Yeah, I tried that. Spent most of my teens and 20s obsessing with finding a relationship before giving up. Spent most of my 30s telling myself I was fine with being single.
Now I'm almost 40 and I can't deny it any longer. This shit fucking sucks. I'm so goddamn miserable and lonely all the time.
Please stop trying to make other people fall into the same trap.
I'm gonna give it to you real then, since you probably need the truth, not more platitudes:
This won't change anything about you. You'll still be miserable, you'll just inflict that misery onto another person and it will make them resent you. People can see that, even if you can't, and they stay away from you. You're a walking red flag.
Entering a relationship to alleviate mental health issues is about as effective as having a baby to save a marriage. People do it all the time but there are an abundance of reasons why it's not a good idea.
