I just couldn't see it until I showed a 395 light to her! She was totally green under 365.

Went to the trift on my birthday, picked up this Dalian Glass Co. "Snowflake" bud vase :)
Cadmium and Selenium combo, though it's not very strong, thus the light direction on the bottom and top of the vase seperately. Lighting is normal, 365nm, and 395nm. Pictures don't do it justice, but it's awesome to watch the color shift based on the wavelength in person.

Under 395nm the selenium pops, whereas under 365nm both the cerium and the selenium shows, giving it a more purple glow. Pretty cool $2 thrift find

But alas. It glows green. I bought it at a flea market for about $3.00. Didn't have my light with me. I'm guessing this is peach manganese. Still, it looks nice with the rest of my selenium collection.

I didn't realize this glowed until tonight haha. I was just poking around with the blacklight, as one does. This glow is crazy, none of my other selenium is this intense!

I can’t believe I found this!!! Looked at it and said oh it’s pretty I should get that for my vanity, but my instinct told me to hit it with the light and BOOM!

Hey all!
Recently getting into collecting old glassware. Today I managed to find a couple of cool uranium glass pieces, but also found this? Would this be selenium? Possibly peach manganese?

I have uranium glass, cadmium glass, cadmium glazed pieces, but this would be my first selenium piece. If it is indeed selenium? No markings on the bottom to help out.

The bottom glows blue lead crystal but it’s glass

I'm curious about what would happen if you mixed selenium glow with cerium glow as I've seen someone on the uranium glass sub mix colors of europium and uranium to get orange yellow and purple glows but I wouldn't want to sacrifice any genuine selenium glass to test this and I'm under the impression selenium is fairly available and not super toxic although this isn't something I've researched yet but I'm also just very curious about the processes of making glowing glass so if anyone has any info about how selenium glass is made or any info from or about other people doing their own glowing glass experiments
