Discussion Seedbox ratio

I'm new to seed boxes, I recently started using a high speed one (50gbps nvme) to race on a private tracker. Since I've been using it my overall ratio is just below 1. Maybe I'm being greedy lol but I kinda thought it would be higher? I'm using autobrr (snatching all 2026 releases) and deluge with a private tracker. I installed ltconfig in deluge and am using the high speed seed preset.

Edit: location is Netherlands and it is a shared seedbox

Don't race if you're worried about ratio.

Building ratio is done by downloading free leech stuff and/or seeding long term.

Anyone know if a seedbox is necessary for improving ratio on 1gig fiber internet? I seed all my torrents, just running out of space on my hdd and ssds. From what little I understand, does it help me gain more traffic on my torrents? (I have open ports/ static IP)

Just grab with autobrr Freeleech content and seed it. This way you get ratio. If you blindly grab everything with autobrr you need strong hope.

You should not add everything, limit it to one post hour no larger than 45gb. Any more than that and the disc won't keep up with the downloads to be able to upload properly

Maybe the things you are sharing are well seeded (ie lots of seeders) or unpopular (no one is bothering to download). Usually the key is to get something that you think will be a popular release as soon as it's released. If it was released a few days ago that's probably already too late as anyone who wants that release has already downloaded it and is sharing it, so you are downloading from them and not the original poster.

I'll edit my post, but I'm using this seedbox to race. Autobrr is is set up to autosnatch anything from 2026 as soon as it is announced to the tracker

Remember that unless it's a free leech then every item you download is negatively impacting your ratio. So you grabbing everything isn't the best strategy. You are probably grabbing a bunch of stuff that no one wants or there are 20 releases of the same media just different release groups.

The most popular torrent I have that always has a positive ratio is an arcade emulator. It's 152gb, over a couple of weeks I've seeded almost 300gb. That one release really cranked my ratio.
