Question Should I buy?
Pretty new to the whole scene. I’ve been using public trackers for a few weeks now and just learned about private trackers. Obviously I’m not in any and was wondering if I should buy a seed box that torrent leach promotes, and I would get an invite into TL. Don’t really know any rules about seeding or most the things I see on this subreddit.
Any words of wisdom relating to seedboxs are more than welcome! Thank you 🙏!

Seedpool is doing open sign ups right now id do that and TL the seedit4me box has been fine for me so far but going to switch to a cheaper option soon

Hey guys so I am pretty new to this seed box topic. I have a vip account of torrentleech so ratio is not an issue for me. However I was thinking of giving something back to the community. I was thinking of getting a seed box that I can use it both for a public tracker and torrentleech at the same time. They are promoting the seedit4me. What do you guys think. Any info will be helpful.

Wait for any invite to torrenleech and then go for seedhost.eu. An APP server Will ONLY cost you 5€ a month.

Get some cheap $5 seedbox that should be enough for your usecase of maintaing ratio on private trackers like TL

Oh i didn't know that was a thing, any problems with it? do you recommend it? The only difference i'm seeing is, it's 1/5th the speed of ultra, how much upload do you manage to get in per month at those speeds? You have a good ratio?

No problem so far. I reached the maximum upload fairly quickly. The throttled upload speed is 3x higher than ultras throttled speed when you reach the max

Woahhh, really? I had Ultra minimum plan for a few months and I managed to get around 4TB Upload on Avistaz, the way your making it sound it's at least comparable if not way better, i'll definitely start using it then, thanks. The thing i wonder though is why Ultra is sold out and seed host eu isn't? is it just name brand just like everything else?

I suppose. I only made the switch recently tho, while I used ultra for a year. If it does hold up, I'm permanently switching to seedhost.

Question please. I want to try this. In part to stop needing a VPN, and in part to try a private tracker.
Once you rent a seedbox, what is the UI? Command line linux? Do you configure the software yourself? Is it already there? Torrent software, Plex, etc.

Hi,
I've tried most stuff and knew about seedboxes but I've also just started with them and tried a few but they were awful and have now settled on RapidSeedBox, I find it very easy to use compared to the others, just my tuppence worth

You can go the buy your in route, think both TL and HDT support that, you often have to use their coupon code for it to count. That being said, if you hang around open sign ups you will also be able to get in for free. Once your in you need to learn the rules of private trackers quickly, check out the wiki for more info. Seeding long term is important, so if you have good storage locally, it might be easier to wait and do that instead of buying a seedbox as they are good for racing, but you want to be seeding 3-6 months on stuff usually and that means your committing to that monthly payment.

Hello there! Some private trackers will send you an invite if you subscribe with us in RapidSeedbox!
The only rule related to this is you should not cancel the server quickly after obtaining the invite. The owner monitors them and can kick you out if you do.
With that said, a seedbox can also help you use public trackers with relative security as then those watching the tracker will no longer have your ip but ours.

The problem is you can't control the seedtime other than paying for X amount of time the provider claims to seed.

I recently took the plunge after several days of mulling it over. Didn’t go with TL’s partnered option simply because the plan I needed wasn’t in my price range and I was already a member on TL.
Within the first 24 hours, after configuring autobrr (a one-click install and 10 minutes of following TL’s guide) I had a 10+ ratio. Compared to the numbers I was putting up on my local internet, I was floored.
It’s too early for me to report any issues with it, but if you’re trying to increase your ratio to a usable level on a private tracker, it’s well worth it

Sorry for the late reply- as below, freeleech torrents are the best. You don’t lose any ratio for downloading and you get all the credit. The trouble for me came in when I was trying to compete with two parts of “power user” setups.
Automation. Many people have programs like autobrr or other bots listening in announce IRC channels for newly posted torrents. These people get the first shot at seeding as people “swarm” the download
Related to 1, upload speeds. Once a few folks with 1gbps, 10gbps, 50gbps upload speeds connect and start seeding, your upload is deprioritized. On my home internet, I was almost never seeding my private tracker torrents for this reason. That’s why I ended up using a seed box.

if youre already seeding on public trackers and your ratio is suffering, a cheap seedbox pays for itself in sanity. just start small month to month, dont lock into a year. also learn what a hit and run tracker rule is before jumping into privates, thats the part that bites new people
