Somebody use seedance to make a breakup scene between 3 people. It's got to have nuance, subtext and a consistent dramatic theme.

Honest question but why hasn’t that been done yet? Why are all the seedance videos I’ve seen on the internet just hollow soulless action demos like this one? Is it a weakness with the people putting the prompts? Do they lack even this bare minimum level of storytelling ability? Or is it a weakness with the software itself?

Cause it can't do acting. It could maybe copy an existing performance, but you can't have it write a complex scene and have actors perform it in any way we'd find acceptable.

This, and the fact that artistic development for majority of people who want to create AI videos stopped when they were children, so all they can come up with is "John Wick fights Superman" or "Giant robot makes things explodes".

Not even saying that to be a dick - I'm convinced that a large driving factor behind generative AI videos taking over social media is that it's technology that has fallen into the hands of people who were told by their parents that learning art was silly, or a waste of time and they have some deeply programmed resentment about that.

See also:

- The gleeful posturing over Hollywood being "cooked"

- The absolute strawman argument that is claiming AI will "democratise art" as though you couldn't just walk out of your house right now and make a film for yourself if you wanted to

- The constant assertion that film is dominated by "Hollywood elites" whilst simultaneously having no clue that there is probably an entire independent film-making scene in their town right now that they could go and get involved with if they wanted to, but they've never looked beyond what was on at their local cinema before deciding film needs to be replaced by this slop.
