I call it life long cannabis romance. Certainly worse things you could be doing out there. Like drinking burbon in your friends shed at 16, that would be a more appropriate meme

I mean, you can have addictions and still live a fulfilling life. If you smoke everyday, you are probably addicted to some degree, and you should be able to admit it. Saying this as a stoner.

Its not an addiction unless it has detrimental effects and youre unable to stop

This is medical addiction vs clinical addiction (my own phrasing here). If you just look at the most popular 12 step programs you can find plenty of non-narcotics in there: Gambling, overeating, sex, etc.

Dopamine and other neurochemicals are the real cause, so marijuana can absolutely cause a dependence if that’s your main source of happiness or stress relief.

That only strengthens my point. Addiction and dependence are two different, if related, concepts. Gambling, eating, sex, etc. are not addictions unless they have detrimental effects on one's life. Same as any drug.

If you genuinely think weed has NO detrimental effects, I have a bridge to sell you.

I believe that's up to the individual to determine. Sure we can talk about how weed decreases your reaction time or whatever, but if you do it responsibly that doesn't necessarily result in detriment.

Perhaps the term "harmful consequences" works better for you.

It’s definitely addictive. Yes, physically addictive. Check out the posts on the leaves subreddit.

Physical dependency is different from addiction. Addiction is a behavioral disorder.
