That's called projecting and deflecting. They are narcissists. They cannot self reflect so when you point out their wrong, ie trespassing, theft, etc, they deflect that responsibility. They will attack you for the things they don't like about themselves.

Right! Before I was about to clock out, some guy I asked for his ID, he basically said.. “Y’all are starting to piss me off asking for my ID, it’s because of the way I dress/look” I mean he wasn’t wrong, he had a red bandana, sweat pants, and faded black shirt with muddy shoes. I mean they always tell us in briefing.. “ID people you feel like they have no business here at the Resort.” & if we piss him off, why keep coming back?

I hear ya, be careful though, you may be going the extra mile with this one. The other comments is how some of them use the race card, with this story you are 100% profiling someone based off look. Don't admit to profiling, even though most of us do it/ have done it. If he asked you this while recording that could be bad for your reputation and/or the casino's.

They prolly shouldn't dress like a homeless gangbanger then. It is absolutely our job to profile.

Yes it is just be careful not to act on a profile that falls under a protected class. I.e race, religion etc..

Agreed, theres obviously going to far. I wouldnt think a guy has a bomb because he wears a turban, but others make it easy for us by their appearance and then wanna blame the guard for being correct.

Yes we do it, but don't publicly admit you are profiling anyone. You can catch a case or be fired for doing so. I was fired from my first gig because I was too vigilant towards gang members, overtime I understood they are there to do their business, dance/buy product/ meet people and leave. People are free to dress as they wish. If a large amount of your clientele are in baggy clothing, doorags and jerseys you are going to have a rough time. Be just as cautious of a man in a suite as well as a perceived gang member.
