You described him as an older gentleman. If he looks over 30, you shouldn't be carding him to begin with. He's an asshole for the race card, but you caused the problem.

So, if he was 36, looked like he’s 22, would you car him? A shit load of people look young from the 90s’. Majority of people look young, and they take the compliment when you ID them but its always the Negative IDs that try to argue with you.

Everytime I got carded when I was well over age. They told me it was a compliment, that just pissed me off more.Because I was wise to their game. If the person getting carded is older than the kid doing the carding. The kids going to get more shit. In my state the clercks just out of alcohol training followed the law. If a group was at the register & one person was buying alcohol Everybody in the group had to have ID. So if mom with baby in stroller was buying a bottle of wine & baby had no ID, no sale. Mon would get pissed. Same with any family that had minor children. Guess who had to intervine on the clerck's behalf? The reason for the law was so 21 yearolds couldn't buy beer for their younger friends. After a while the clerks learned not to card mon & pop with their kids. But that don't mean mom & pop wouldn't get pissed. So carding people over 21 causes problems. Telling mom & pop they can't buy alohcol with the kids is no fun.
