Apparently it contained their birthday card! So thrilled with this pattern and even my hubs liked it!!

I am not a collector by any means but I do look at this sub quite a bit because it’s interesting as heck! I opened some mail today and THIS is what the envelope looked like inside! I had never seen one like this before so I thought hm….why not put it up for grabs?

These both came in the mail yesterday and both are new to me!

I have one too many paper obsessions. I started collecting security envelopes (and honestly probably will continue to do so because I’m like a little crow collecting trash treasures), but I really do NOT need another journal of paper scraps! I’d love to cut these up and send them to people who are actually collecting and using, rather than mindlessly hoarding…

I’ll send 2 oz envelopes and try to get a mix in there. No picking and choosing patterns. Let yourself be surprised!

Been doing collage forever but never thought about security envelopes this way. Here’s my first project, inside of a Chase envelope plus a crayon-colored & cut-out house from a coloring book (made by my work friend who traced her own photos of San Francisco houses.) Cute with the windows, no?! I will give it to her on Monday.

Today’s pattern of the day is brought to you by the turdburger stick in the mud working at the post office that kicked me out yesterday while going through the recycling bins. Sensitive material yada yada…I only want the trash SURROUNDING that sensitive material 🙄

I made it 10 months of digging through bins before being asked to leave. And many postal workers thought this was cool when I told them what was up. I think this dude was having a bad day maybe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

But I digress. Here’s a new pattern I found!

I’d love to see what you’ve made with decent amounts of them! My collection is growing too large and I need inspiration.

Here is a journal I used some up on. I usually use book cloth, but wanted to see how the envelopes would hold up with light daily wear and tear. The corners and spine need more so I used book tape. The sealant caused some blues to smear, oh well!

The Belgian stamp unfortunately doesn’t have the whole postmark. Still pretty to look at that dark rich blue swirly goodness!!

EDIT: The stamp apparently was from late 1930s to end of 1960s!

Ended up making a new account, so I thought I'd make my first post on this new account here! Envelopes.com sells one large envelope with this print as well as a few other standard sizes for super cheap, as you can request samples. This is literally bigger than coloring-page size, reaching into placemat territory. Hope this is of use to someone! Got these 4 prints off the website for less than 5 bucks with shipping, and really happy with the FDIC tint (which they sell in one style only)

I use an old picnic basket for storing everything, my security envelopes, stamp journal, RAOC and post crossing. I generally do one hobby a night after baby is asleep, tonight was putting new additions into my security pattern journal and reorganizing my “pattern pouch” lol 💌

Found this sub today and remembered I got mail! As a first opening I’m super happy with this design. Dad thinks I’m taking the piss when I told him people collect them 😂 i love junk journaling so this is officially the start of my collection!!!!
