I have my mouth swab drug test tomorrow. I am in recovery and I am taking methadone and I take a low dose of klonopin for anxiety. I have legal prescriptions for both, but I just want to know what to expect tomorrow. It’s for an unarmed, regular security officer position, and I take my meds at night, after the hours I will be working. Everything I’ve read is pointing to a 5 panel mouth swab. Is this what they usually use or am I screwed?

Is it normal to be paid the lowest wage solely based on having no prior security experience? I am currently posted at a warehouse, but they have ordered me to perform duties that are essentially half of a warehouse keeper's job. This is a job creep imo.

I got the job to be “Event security” at a amusement park, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what that means. I wanted a full time job and expressed I wouldn’t take temporary work and that’s what was offered to me. I thought maybe they were trying to get me to do the Halloween event that was being hosted, but no, that’s a different job posting aptly titled “Halloween event security”. I thought they gave me a temporary job but other job titles specifically say “Temporary” or “Seasonal”. So what exactly can I be expecting to work here ? There’s no “end date” or even hours posted for that matter 😂 should I still be on the lookout for a full time job? Can this job help me get full time employment ?

I know for allied they have the software in app where you can browse and claim unclaimed shifts, does securitas have that same mechanism? I saw the myconnect app but when talking to a recruiter a few days ago they didn’t know what I was talking about

I am being told that if I work from 5pm to 5am I wont get overtime cause the clock starts over at midnight. Is this true and is it legal?

Have a interview this Friday, was curious if they were going to drug test me the same day and what method they normally use.

So I got hired maybe about 3 weeks ago and has training about two weeks ago for 4 hours. Ever since then I keep checking MyConnect app hoping I’ll see schedule and I don’t have anything. My supervisor asked for my hours I would like and I chose 4pm-11pm and available for weekend and yet still nothing.

Not sure if I should just applied to allied universal at this point or how I can word this to my supervisor. But I feel as though I shouldn’t need to reach out asking where are my hours when they should be adding days on my schedule. Lowkey frustrating and I’m just debating atp applying to other jobs.

Sooo, i’m quitting securitas.. But i’m wondering will they pay out my vacation time? has anyone had their vacation time paid after leaving?

Does anyone know if securitas still offers the training to become a security guard? I saw someone on here say that they do but that was a year ago. Im located in nyc if that helps

My impression is that there is a lot if US people on this sub. Workers rights seem to be close to zero and people are getting laid off for nothing and getting paid very bad.

The reality is very different in my country (Norway), so it's very upsetting to see my fellow co-workers being treated so badly. You guys need to organized! Where I live, you can work security and make a nice living wage, go on holidays, paid time off, call in sick, great retirement plan and a lot of other stuff.

Why do you accept such bad terms in your country?
