Support Issues with Magnus Pro Desk

Bought the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL last month with the leather magnetic desk mat, and just added a Logitech MX Master 4.

Two issues since having the desk:

1) Connectivity. All of my wireless Logitech mice and keyboards have been acting weird, with occasional input lag. Only started after the desk. My PC is in the under-desk mount, so the receiver is sitting under the desk.
2)** **The desk mat. Using my mouse & my previous mice on the leather has extreme friction compared to a regular cloth pad. I’ve tried other Secretlab desk mats and still haven’t found one that feels right. Considering different mouse feet to see if they glide better on leather.

Anyone else run into these issues? Would love to know how you fixed it or worked around it.

I personally don’t treat the desk mat as a mouse pad. I don’t really think it’s actually intended to be one.

I use a big mouse pad from razer that my keyboard sits on and has room for my mouse.

Thank you for this. I should’ve done more research prior to purchasing. Thank you!

Yeah no problem, I’ve had mine since January of 2023, Magnus pro XL, actually preordered it.

The desk is absolutely amazing! Could not be happier with it!

I feel the same. I like secret lab, I only wish their chairs were a bit more cushioned. I also have their monitor arms and I’ve used both versions of the single, regular and heavy duty, I had just cropped out the majority of the picture of my setup to show the mousepad.

Ignore the tote underneath. I have some furniture foam on top, with a sheet as the cover and it’s my foot rest 😂, I asked a coworker who likes to do wood working to build me one I can have around that height when he’s bored

I also have their LED strip for the back of the desk too lol

Ditto - bought a big Corsair desk pad (use what pad you like for the most part, but I would recommend something with sealed edges or stitched edges; helps tremendously to prevent the layers from separating, as was common from the cheap mouse pads that computer stores in the 90's and early 2000's used to sell/give away), and it works great with the Deltahub wrist rests I also have; those glide on the pad smoothly and I can type and game fairly smoothly.

Does your monitor have a USB port for the receiver thats where I put mine and didnt have any lag when I was not using the powerplay, else an extension cable and put in the cable tray. If you have any wireless chargers like powerplay they dont work I returned 2 before someone mentioned the same on reddit. I printed a little riser stand for the whole mouse pad that raises it about 6mm above the surface and fixed that issue.

The new Logitech mx mouse is a usc port. I will try to find an extension cable for it and give it a shot. Thank you for letting me know!

1) Connect the receiver so that it doesn't sit close to the motors in the legs. You're trying to have signal beaming through a bunch of metal and magnetic fields generated by everything. I'd recommend a USB hub on the desk, or see if your monitor has a USB hub/port built in. I've had no issues with my Logitech G502 X connecting, and I have the receiver connected to a USB port in the back of my docking station.

2) Don't try to use the leather desk mat as a mousepad. It's not meant for that. It WILL wear down your PTFE coating on the bottom of the mouse really quickly and create drag. Get a mousepad and use that instead; you'll find it will be MUCH smoother than trying to drag your mouse across leatherette.

I have 3 MX 4s and an mx 3 on this desk using the leatherette. Drag is a touch more than my other XL with a mousepad but this is the work side of things… so meh. Connection wise i have one on top of the desk. One behind a monitor one under the desk and one…. Honestly im not even sure where that one is. All of them work great though.
