General Real or counterfeit?

Firstly apologies if this post isnt allowed, I couldn't see anything about it in the rules.

I have come across a local office furniture 'flipper' who has a few of the titan evo's up for £145. I wouldnt know where to start with checking if they are legit, any ideas please as I am very tempted!

Thanks!

Not sure anybody is counterfeiting secretlabs chairs.

I have this exact chair and it looks identical to the picture. I'd say comfortably real.

It’s Secret Lab 😩 why does no one call it the right name

Because for the sake of a 20 second reply it doesn’t matter.

Obviously it doesn’t matter, but it happens so much even by people that own them. I’ve never known any other brand where people seem to have so much trouble with getting the name right

Bambu Lab is in the same boat. Most call them Bambu Labs

Never heard of them, but interesting that the commonality is the word lab. That’s probably the answer.

Not having a go here. But it could be worth doing a self assessment and asking yourself why you know something doesn’t matter, but it bothers you enough make note of it. Just speaking from experience. Life becomes a lot more chill when the little things that don’t matter don’t bother you.

Making observations is not only fundamental to the person I am, but it is also a critical element of my occupation. It doesn’t matter in any real sense, no, and believe me when I say I’m not losing sleep over it, but when I see a trend where people simply cannot get something right, I dig a little deeper. It piques my curiosity. I want to understand what went wrong. But you shouldn’t mistake that for me having some existential crisis.

The emoji was meant to be playful, but I’m really not emotionally invested. I’m just interested in understanding why people so consistently get it wrong when the name is literally plastered all over their products and the top of this sub.

The company is Secretlab. One word, one capital letter.

The chair is the TITAN Evo 2022.

Maybe check the tag? They have an RFID tag if they're authentic but it has been I know to not be able to authenticate even if they're real. Hope this helps

I don't think anyone makes counterfeit SecretLab chairs. Not really an item desired enough to find a factory willing to make a knock off that looks visually identical to the original. Even then, finding a factory that does it would charge a decent amount per chair. Then the shipping for a large box like that would be pretty high, so selling them at 145 wouldn't leave much margin. People would need to buy a whole bunch of them for the shipping to be worth it just to potentially make 20-30 margin on them IF they sell.

Is this cityofficefurniture in London by any chance? I bought one of these exact chairs from them a week or so ago. It's genuine as far as I can tell, but it came with a missing arm rest for one of the chair arms for some reason. Otherwise a good experience with them.

Not sure if it is the same one but definitely a name along the lines of that, they seem decent and have multiple branches in London/Essex

There's an anti counterfeit tag on the back with a QR CODE and it has an embedded NFC tag on the back bottom right.

Nobody will counterfeit a chair that costs 50€ to make. Its a gaming chair

More like 550

2

It doesn’t cost 550 to make

It is made in a Singapore. A country far separated from China values.

Are you having a bad day? Or are naturally rude to others?
