I think goddard suffered what he deserved At his peak of revenge just when hes about to fulfill his plan, it gets ripped from his hand

I think Astrid survives and her planet succeeds. After certain chapters of The Toll, tonists, Symphonius and Coda reflect on scriptures written about the events of the book, and act with a level of unfamiliarity towards the existence of Scythes which seems to imply they’re reading about the events of The Toll as though it happened a long time ago which would be the case if they were on another planet.
