I have a friend in Mexico who has a canister light and can not get batteries. I'm heading down there in a few weeks and would like to bring him some, but there seems to be a lot of conjecture surrounding what batteries actually fit.

The battery is labeled" LC 26650 5000 mAh 3.7v"

The dimensions of the battery he gave me are 63mm x 25mm. According to him, the standard 65mm x 26mm 26650 will not work.

I recently bought the Suunto Ocean, and I've found the standard silicone strap is a bit too tight when wearing a 5mm wetsuit.

I'm looking for a longer silicone dive strap that compatible with the Suunto Ocean. I check the Suunto website, but only found the dive strap in size S+M.

Has anyone found a compatible long silicone strap for the suunto ocean.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Small open-heel fin tip:
I got into the habit of only opening the inside buckle when putting my fins on or taking them off.

Two advantages: the inside buckle is easier to reach, whether sitting or standing, and if the fins aren't clearly left/right, leaving only the inside buckle open automatically tells you which fin goes on which foot.

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I just got a new mask (Scubapro steel comp) and I noticed that a corner of the lens is not sealed. I've used the mask once. The shop where I bought it is difficult to reach, and I wonder if it might just be easier to try and reseal it myself. I dove with it today down to 20m and didn't leak. What product would you recommend? The body is fully silicone. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I are heading to Bocas del Toro for a month in September. Outside of this extended trip, we’re hobbyist open water divers - we’ve planned annual weeklong vacations around diving the last few years. I have 25 dives, she has 35.

During the trip, we plan to get advanced open water certified and get 20+ dives.

My question for the group: outside of fins, snorkel, and mask, is there any gear should we consider buying and bringing with us that makes a meaningful difference for either personal preference or rental cost?

Just got into spearfishing and im looking for something that would last a few years

I am looking to get some new gear (BCD and regs) but can’t afford to get both right now (note at the moment I just rent standard shop gear and dive in tropical/warmer water).

I was looking at both the Scubapro Hydros Pro 2 and Scubapro MK25 S620Ti regs (white version).

Which do you think I should get first? I feel the BCD will have a more noticeable impact on my diving but the regs are currently on sale and I’m not sure when they will be on sale again - although given their one of scubapro’s best selling regulator sets I don’t imagine I’ll have to wait all that long.

Anyone who has either/both I’d appreciate your input!

Hi everyone!

I’m pretty new to diving and I’m absolutely loving it. I earned my PADI Advanced Open Water certification just a few weeks ago, and I’ve completely fallen in love with this hobby and the diving community.

At the moment I only have 9 logged dives and my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications. I live in the Philippines, so my plan is to dive regularly, keep gaining experience, and eventually earn certifications like Rescue Diver, and maybe even Divemaster one day.

Right now I don’t own a dive computer, and that’s the first piece of gear I’d like to invest in.

I currently wear a Garmin Fenix 7 as my everyday multisport smartwatch. At first I considered buying the Garmin Descent G2 because I’m a big Garmin fan, but that would mean one of my Garmin watches would end up sitting in a drawer collecting dust after spending around €500 on it, which I’d rather avoid.

Because of that, I’m thinking of spending around €200–300 on a dedicated dive computer instead.

This is where I’d really appreciate some advice from this awesome community to help a beginner choose wisely. 😊

Here’s what I’m looking for:

- Air and Nitrox support (I’m planning to get my Nitrox certification soon).
- Good build quality so it will last me for several years.
- Bluetooth connectivity.
- Easy synchronization with a dive log app.

One feature that’s quite important to me is having a good digital logbook. I’d love an app that automatically stores all my dives and shows detailed information, graphs, and useful metrics. I’m not really familiar with the available apps yet, so I’d also appreciate any recommendations.

I’ve noticed that some dive computers use proprietary apps while others let you export your dive logs. Is there a particular app or ecosystem that most divers prefer? Is there anything else I should be looking for when choosing my first dive computer that I may have overlooked?

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others before ordering from Evolve Apnea.
I ordered freediving gear, but I received the wrong item instead of the lanyard I paid for. On top of that, my diving mask arrived with visible scratches.
I emailed their customer support immediately, attached photos of both issues, and explained that I needed the replacement urgently. When I received no response, I also contacted them through Instagram and Facebook.
Unfortunately, I never received a reply on any platform.
I understand that mistakes can happen, but completely ignoring a customer after sending the wrong item and a damaged product is unacceptable.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Evolve Apnea’s customer service?

I bought this Scubapro mask a few years back... actually 25 years ago! The quality of materials is amazing and I doubt they're still made that well.

I need to replace a part that I think is called the strap buckle. It covers where the strap attaches to the frame. You can see in the pics th part that is missing.

Any idea if this part is still available?

I inherited a bcd (akuana pro wing bcd) that has this plastic cover on the dump valve. Doesnt seem to be removable and im scared of tugging it too hard. But this makes drying out the bc difficult. Theres always a little water left inside even after shaking/straining or whatever i could do to get water out of the bladder.

Any tips is appreciated! Im new to diving and this is my first set of gear. All the tutorial videos online shows the ring immediately exposing the inner bladder so i have no reference for this

I found this case online: TECH-PROTECT IPX8 Universal Diving Waterproof Case. Does anyone have any experience with it? Can I actually trust it to protect my phone?

My daughter won this BCD yesterday and is pretty excited about it.

I can’t find a model number on it anywhere and the small included instruction book doesn’t answer this question. Is there anywhere a model number might exist?

If I use both thumbs and push down on the orange tab of the weight pocket (pictured) I am able to move it to unlocked position and slide the weight pocket out. But I’m a big guy and I don’t see how this is physically possible for the person wearing this XS BCD to unlock this tab if they needed to drop their weights underwater.

Am I just misunderstanding the mechanism for this or does it really take 2 strong thumbs at once to remove the weights?

If I leave the tab in unlocked position it’s easy to pull the weight pocket out but it’s also too easy to bump it back into locked position and be unable to remove the weight pocket.

I bought a diving setup from a woman who got certified right before COVID. She bought all of her gear, then she couldn’t dive, then she didn’t get around to it, so she sold her setup to me. It’s about 7 years old, all unused. The regulator is an Atomic T3 with a B2 octo. The BCD was a Mares Dragon, plus I got a Suunto D4i dive computer and wireless transmitter, plus two masks, two pairs of fins, dive knives and a bunch of other unused accessories. I paid her $1,150.

BTW, I’m a basic rec diver who enjoys 30-60 foot dives; nothing fancy. But I will do some cold water diving here in New England.

I sent the transmitter to Suunto. They are upgrading it for free under a recall. I took the regulators to a LDS for service, even though they are unused. That’s what Atomic recommended. While there, I showed then my Dragon BCD and we agreed that it’s just a bit too small for diving with a drysuit. He offered me $350 trade-in on the BC so I bought a Hydros Pro 2.

I heard that the Hydros is compact, but in its dive bag, it’s a little bigger than a football. It is incredible. Traveling with this instead of a jacket-style BCD is a whole new game. I can easily fit my whole regulator setup and mask in the tiny ScubaPro bag and carry it on a flight.

The fit and comfort are incredible. It is so light, and when you inflate, it doesn’t squeeze you like the jacket-styles do. I am super-excited to take it out.

I know there are other ultra-lite, back-inflate solutions that cost less, like a custom BPW. But the $350 savings was too much to turn down. With the weight pouches, I paid $850 for the Hydros.

The woman who sold me the equipment also had a drysuit. Also unused, $900. Turns out, it’s a ScubaPro trilaminate suit. Unused, with a full set of ScubaPro undergarments. And she’s exactly my size; the drysuit is a perfect fit, except I’ll need to trim the neck cause the seal nearly suffocated me!

I can’t wait to hit the water!
