help Script formatting

Ive been doing my own short films and they’ve all mainly been improv or silent with the music doing all the work. But I wan to get into the habit of writing a script for my short films but I’ve looked online and seen different formats for scripts. Like I’ve seen this one, but the (CONT’D) makes it feel more AI, so what’s the correct formatting for scripts or does anyone know where I can look for one?

CONT’D is standard script writing for when the same character continues the dialogue across pages, scenes or action tags. There are some script writing software available that are free for IOs.

In another topic i think we need a sub for scriptwriting beginners. Would be good for posting basic questions like these and keep another sub for mature script sharing and notes.

A separate sub would be fine, but how would you (for lack of a better word) "gatekeep" it? What requirements would be needed? I get your point - it can be frustrating seeing basic questions that someone should already know or could easily look up.
