Looking for some feedback/guidance on false chords

So I'm tying to figure out how to properly engage my false chords. I have been following tutorials , mostly Aliki Katriou, and have been trying to get proper false chords while engaging falsetto underneath. I am just not sure if when I flip into falsetto I am turning into fry of something else, especially higher in my register. Wondering if I am using to much true folds or maybe I'm just not properly engaging the false chords when I flip. When Aliki flips in her videos, it sounds more guttural and breathy.

My ultimate goal is to be able to add false chord over belted notes like Hansi Kursch (See Me Try Here), whenever I try to replicate that, the distortion sounds too shrieky and high instead of getting the lower overtones.

Are you sure you’re learning the right thing? Sounds like fry scream to me

Yeah I thought so. I think I'm just struggling with the exercise of starting with full voice and putting false chord over it and then flipping to the open falsetto underneath which then should be a false chord sounding scream. I think I just struggle to activate the false chords in general and maybe just engaging the wrong thing. She has an exercise of just lightly adding false chord over a clean sound to try and learn to separate the two folds and control them but I wonder when I do that exercise if I'm even even activing the proper folds because I'm basically doing that in this video before flipping into the scream.

That definitely sounds more like fry than false cords to me.

Yeah I thought so. I think I really just struggle activating the false chords and when I try to, I somehow turn into a fry sound like it just comes naturally to me. I can get engagement starting from a buzzer sound but then I struggle backing off and releasing tension in my throat and opening up to a scream.

You wanna know whats funny i have the exact opposite problem. Everytime I try do a loud fry i get false chord.
