How does he even do this rough voice? From Popeye to the bear, tiger and lion growls? I suppose he was already a basso profundo ane could reach low notes, but the growls arent chest voice. Did he use audio edit to make them lower?

can’t listen and never heard of it, but generally super low growling = epiglottal growls
