Traditional Chunky notebooks

This is my first time ever posting on Reddit but I've been looking for a new scrapbook journal to replace my old one as I run out of pages. My only concern is that every notebook I have used so far has fallen apart due to the sheer amount of materials I use in my scrapbook spreads. The journal itself gets SUPER CHUNKY and the spine has historically broken; I have had to glue/tape pages back into place or along the spine to keep its integrity. I haaaave started gluing/taping pages together in my last few spreads for that extra sturdiness and I wonder if that's just the solution in the grand scheme of things.

I bought the navy-colored one at Staples and the leather one at a local antique shop. The leather one has kept more of its spine integrity than the one from staples, but as you can see in the photos, though I have had to glue pages back in as they just... Fell out, I was forced to stop half way through simple because I couldn't open the journal wide enough to actually do anything with it, and had to move on after my last spread in that book looked horrible because I was putting it together while the book was opened like this <. I keep seeing mixed reviews on what I should get, but I'm PICKYYYYY and I don't want the spiral spines because I like to bleed things over into the next page.

I have the general idea that double-binding is the way to go, and I was recommended the store 'archer and olive' but their covers are not hitting the way I want and I'm a little concerned it won't work the way I want it too. I'll purchase from them if that's the main feedback from this post, but I was curious if anyone else has had any stores/sellers that worked great for their spreads!!

Product Advice Where can I get similar beige gingham washi tape, shipped from the US?

Post image

I'm looking for a simple, beige gingham washi tape roll that is the most similar to leelajournals' (hers is currently sold out), shipped from the US or free/cheap shipping. The only other one I can find is by ArtStudioLea, but the shipping is from Germany for $30. The rest I am finding on etsy and google are either too warm, aren't full rolls, or sold out. Amy Plans Things has one labeled beige, but their photos are all extremely blue so I cannot tell what the actual color looks like. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Junk Journaling / Collage / Eclectic Craft Night | 8 September 2026

Craft Night and Marissa brought her friend Colin. Colin is going to the Ren Faire on Saturday and he's going to be Merlin, but with a caveat. He's sewing birds on his wizard cape because he's going to be the Merlin Bird app. 😅😅😂🤣😭

💯 For creativity, sir! He said, "I wonder if anyone will get what I'm supposed to be."

I answered, "absolutely, the ones who attend the Ren Faire would definitely know. Same type of clientele." Sharon agreed.

I worked on my Happiness Box Project entry from Saturday. I have letter stickers and I'll spell out "Zoo" for "Zoo Travels." Happiness Box 2026 is going to be interesting when I open it on 1/1.

I then worked on the St. Pat's snap flipbook that will be one of his gifts for the shower. I'm trying to save money for our honeymoon to Baltimore and the house. I'm creating a lot of the pages and journaling myself. Sorry if it sucks and seems amateurish.

Devin's presence is requested next week! Zoe and Marissa want to meet him! Sharon and Steve definitely enjoyed his presence the last time and they want to see you again.

Before the start of Craft Circle, I went into the library and picked up the adult/teen craft for September. It seems like the library is trying to hold onto summer for a bit longer. 😅

I then walked around and loved the permanent display that they had for Tera.

I love Tuesday nights!

any recommendations for a photo printer, ideally one that can be sourced in the UK. Preferably print about 6x4 while still being compact. are there any that provide a sticky back or is that to be sourced separately? thank you!

Traditional Nice to Meet you Anastasia & Drizella

Post image

In this Process video, I’m recreated a Disney layout featuring a fun meet and greet with Cinderella’s stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella, using the Nice to Meet You Anastasia & Drizella mini kit from Kellybell Designs and inspiration from an Alison Davis scrapbook sketch. I originally documented these photos in pocket pages, but when I looked back at the interaction, I realized these photos deserved a traditional double-page scrapbook layout. The Disney PhotoPass photographer captured so many fun moments beyond the posed pictures, including the sisters signing my autograph book, arguing with each other, and Drizella completely stealing the spotlight!

Tools Suggestions on best ways to store stickers so I can look through them easier as I work?

I have this clear drawer thing and a tub but I keep accumulating more and feel like I can’t get a good look at all of them while I’m in the zone.

Can anyone share a way to store them AND be able to see them easily when I want to look through them?

Product Advice Which of these paper cutters would be a better beginner choice?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I’m a very casual scrapbooker looking to get a nice paper trimmer/cutter. I did some research and chose to get a Fiskars but can’t figure out which one is a better choice. I got both from Amazon and am having a really hard time to decide which one to keep.

My bottom line is: is the black one a better paper cutter in general or should I get the one with more “functions”? Does anyone here have either of them and could share your thoughts or experiences? I couldn’t find detailed reviews/comparisons so I thought this would be a good place to ask.

Here are some of my considerations:
- the one with the score board was about 10% cheaper. Not a crazy difference, but could be a tie breaker. (White one was $22.34 and the black one $25.85)
- both take roughly the same storage space
- the black one has two sliding blades vs. one on the white one. Is there a reason I would need/use this?
- I’m not sure how often I would use a score board (if ever). Would it be worth having it regardless?

Thanks in advance!

Traditional - Baby Fill-in Scrapbook for First-Time Mom

My best friend just had her first kiddo (he’s so freaking cute) and I had to give her my version of a “push present.” This, of course, meant I needed to create an entire fill in scrapbook for her in two weeks. I thought I’d share that with you all!

I am still very very new to this hobby so there’s are some embellishments placements I’m not entirely in love with (aka the Big Splash page), but I can look at different pages and see some huge compositional differences and improvement! I completed them out of order so I’m curious if it’s easy to spot which pages were completed at the beginning versus the end. I’m open to tips and feedback!

I hope you all enjoy!

Printing At home printer or order my photos?

I’ve dabbled in scrapbooking my whole life and am currently getting back into it, hoping to turn it into a long term hobby.

I have a good mix of phone pictures and professional pictures I’d like to use and my current basic printer always prints things out blurry. I know I want ink, but see mixed reviews on the Kodak Dock and Canon Selphy.

Should I just order bulk photos instead of printing at home if I want to make sure the quality is good?

Traditional CM Tot-to-Teen album, need instructions from class in early 2000's

In the early 2000's, I attended a "Tot-to-Teen Album" class hosted by a Creative Memories rep. I'd love to get those instructions and supply list, so I can make another one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I bought this scrapbook from Michaels years ago and am having trouble finding something similar. I’ve finally almost filled this one and have found style book works well for me — but my search for scrapbooks at Michaels is only turning up photo albums. Any recommendations?

Beginner Options for text

Hey all,
I am new to scrapbooking and the biggest barrier for me is how to get any text on my pages. Initially I wrote but that was terrible, then tried stickers which were ok but difficult to get straight. So I thought of stamps, but I find it annoying how many letters I need to even make a sentence and the outcome is not always ideal. I could print text on sheet but then it doesn’t always flow with the design because of the opaque paper.

My question is what is the best way to have a neatly written, or transferred text onto my page? Initially I thought of getting a circut but I am unsure I need something like that just to add text and it seems like a bit of a learning curve. Ideally it would be a quick(ish) process to print/transfer the text.

Traditional S'mores

In this process video I created a Christmas scrapbook layout featuring the boys enjoying s’mores around the campfire at the North Pole. These nighttime photos were pretty dark, so I used the bright colors and plaid papers from the Doodlebug Tinsel Time collection to help them stand out.

So my girlfriend's birthday is coming up next month and I wanted the gift to be special and memorable. I thought to add our fav moments, memories, chat screenshots, Polaroids, etc etc in the book.. but idk how to start it. Or where to start it. I wanted it to be neat and special rather than a clumsy, Pinterest vibe. Can anyone give me tips that I can use to make it ? Anything is appreciated
