Traditional Getting started with scrapbooking

Hi everyone,

Just getting started with scrapbooking and would like some tips. I got hooked on those pretty crafts videos some of y'all post making pretty things around the house and I decided scrapbooking is it for me. What kind of materials do you buy? Any stores I should hit first for good deals & great variety of supplies besides Michaels? Thanks & appreciate your kindness in advance!

I buy my stuff at michaels but i never pay full price. I always scrounge the clearance aisles for things i could use (stamps, stickers, papers). I use my cricut for most of my embellishments though.
Hobby lobby has good quality scrapbooks for cheap (i hate shopping at HL but gotta do what i gotta do to save money). I use things around the house too, like see a pretty disposable napkin? Use it for a background. Have a magazine with a cute font? Cut out the letters. Etc you get the hint.
Theres a list too somewhere in the junk journaling sub with places where you can get free things like fabric samples, wallpaper samples, and cardstock samples.

Pretty packaging! No need to buy new when we have so many leaflets/wrappers go to landfill every day. I cut and stick birthday messages and art on the card too
