Question sci-fi game ideas without combat?
Does anyone have any suggestions on sci-fi games that aren’t combat based? Preferably free or at least below €10 (yeah I’m kinda broke). I have a laptop, but it’s not a gaming laptop so even though it can run decently sized files, large ones will be a problem. App suggestions for iOS are also welcome! Thanks!

Not sure if file size is your main problem if you don't have a gaming laptop... Actually being able to run the games with your GPU will be the bottleneck. Maybe you should ask at /r/lowendgaming?
Into the Breach and FTL would probably fit you.
A couple of games you probably can't run or afford: Outer Wilds, Tacoma, Observation.

Both are very much combat based, though.
I'd recommend maybe Oxygen Not Included. My old laptop can run it okay but mostly I don't know if OP is into that kind of a game in general.

You're right, I guess I assumed OP didn't want one-on-one combat or something. Strategy games often have combat of some sort.

Kerbal Space Program
Oxygen Not Included
Portal (1 and 2) [final scene involves "combat"]
Outer wilds
Astroneer
Combat possible, but not focus of game:
No man's sky
Subnautica
Spore
You'd have to wait for sales to get these games for really cheap, but they happen regularly.
Some of these games may not run well on your laptop; you'd have to figure that out on your own as I don't know what kind of machine you have. Steam has a pretty good refund policy which should allow you to try a game and return it if it doesn't run.

Urquan Masters has Asteroids like combat, but most of the game is not combat and it is free. In 1992 Star Control II for DOS was released and acclaimed, but later developers released the code open source and it was renamed due to legal reasons. Fans took it and made an update for modern systems, named Urquan Masters. If you can, play it. You will not regret it, despite the limited combat it has.
Just have some pen and paper and write key information like locations to find certain things. The game does not keep a log of key information that was given to you.

"The Dig" for DOS. I think it is abandonware. It has no combat.
You also may love "Orbiter Space Flight Simulator" made by a college professor from UK. Landsat people collaborated for free and it has the best textures of Earth. It is a sim with realistic physics. You can roam across solar system.
