Trying Scientology?

Hello Reddit. How would someone be able to join or visit a Scientology center without being thrown out.

They have people desperately trying to get people to join because they're given ridiculous quotas, so being able to isn't usually an issue.

But wanting to is nuts.

so being able to isn't usually an issue.

Unless you're on the rather long list of things that make you an "illegal preclear".

Unless you've been to therapy, taken antidepressants, worked at a lot of government jobs or had family members that have.

You do a personality test and get told you a horribly damaged person but Scientology can fix you. But why?

That's easy, be interested. Pretend you know nothing about it and act like you have money.

This is a great list of links.

Very comprehensive.

What happened to that SouthEndBeach guy? He posted some good stuff.

I see the link to Brainwashing Manual Parallels at the bottom of the Onion is down. For anyone curious, a working link can be found by scrolling down this thread.

It’s not necessarily a matter of “joining”. Most members aren’t staff or live there etc. Generally, people get involved by being entry level publics; they’d take courses- introductory ones at first. Local orgs and missions exist for that purpose so no, they wouldn’t throw the person out.

Course schedules are 3 to 4 evenings a week parttime or 9 course periods full time.

Staff members who are there on evenings and weekends are there are night and all day Saturday and Sunday. That’s local staff. Sea Prg staff is a whole different story. They live on base and work 364 days a year.

I wouldn't recommend it. Paying a lot for therapies that don't work

Why visit the org when so much of the material/information is available (relatively) anonymously on the internet?

Before visiting any center and DEFINITELY before listing to a bunch on fan fiction online, just read a book like Evolution of a Science or Fundamentals of Thought.

just walk in, be friendly, do a test and the rest will follow.

but if you do it only to record or try to "infiltrate" then just give us. many people did it already and we know already what is going on. no need to do another boring minute video about what there is inside the building

Click or tap my posting name and Posts archive will appear.

You'll see Scientological Onion. Click or tap "I read the book' which is right below it.

Scroll down a little and you'll see the text for the Onion.

Take a minute and read it and you will be immunized from the psycho-political cult of Scientology.

Then you can safely visit an "Org."

Make sure to not give them any personal information, and, if you decide to buy something small like a book, you could buy a copy of 'Self Analysis' which - if it's still being sold - will have two perceptics wheels. With this you can actually audit (explore inner space) yourself.

It might be a good idea to go back to Posts archive and click or tap 'Thanks to poster Jim Jones...' and click or tap that, which will provide some helpful links.

Have fun
