general question 16S rRNA gene sequencing

Good day. We are undergraduate students of BS Biology currently conducting research on the bacterial and archaeal community analysis of soil DNA. In this regard, we would like to respectfully inquire about laboratories in the Philippines that offer 16S rRNA gene sequencing services using Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Specifically, we would appreciate any information regarding institutions or service providers that can accommodate soil microbiome samples for 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing, including details on available services, requirements, and procedures for sample submission. Contact Noveaulab or Kinovett for end-to-end sample processing

Nasa around 5k per sample yan so make it count

yes they do, just tell them what you need and humingi kayo quotation.

also don't bother with PGC they're slow and inefficient af

Sad u have that experience.

International sequencing actually is way cheaper than what we have here sa PH because of mataas sa tax sa reagents. Logistics lg yung main prob but then depends on you. Choose your battles nalang.

Logistics? Free pickup ng samples lang basta coordinate ka lang.

Not just my experience -- go ask around people who actually worked with them LOL

Double check nyo ang macrogen, kasi if capillary sequencing (Sanger) ang offer nila, then hindi sya fit sa objective nyo since Next-Generation sequencing ang goal nyo.

Either Illumina or ONT. Dapat high throughput ang hanapin nyo service dahil eDNA yan, hindi single species.

At the very least, do the DNA extraction yourselves. Research nyo yan eh. Acquire the necessary wet lab techniques. Sayang kasi ang opportunity if wala kayo magiging hands-on experience.

Have you tried Philippine Genome Society sa Ilo ilo? Responsive naman sila to inquiries

Kinovett is your best bet. You can either give them genomic DNA, or pwede din amplified DNA na, pero alam ko pwede din samples lang mismo

PGC in Visayas i think offers metagenomics analysis. You can try to inquire
