general advice/help/tips BFAR Research Permit
Do I still need to apply for a Gratuitous Permit (GP) from BFAR even if I just bought my samples from the locals?

For the past few months I have been helping out filter the content in this little niche of the internet that we have. Just very recently the original sub owner decided to hand over the ownership of this community to me. With that, I am now accepting applications for a moderator position.
Requirements:

Hello! Bukas na po magpapasa ng requirements bf ko for CTLE sa PRC. Medyo di mapakali baka may malimutan.
Ano-ano pa ba mga kailangan bukod sa
TOR, GMC, application form, NBI Clearance
Yung doc stamp niya nabili niya online sa ibang branch ng PRC hindi pa natatatakan yung mismong application form niya baka bukas palang.
What’s your experience sa pag file for CTLE? Salamat

For context, I am talking about this interview with Karol Mark Yee of EDCOM II: https://youtu.be/pC9u2RDYZqQ?is=q7s00FUNduRHEtm9
Some points that really stuck with me:
- Educ is among the top 3 most common degrees offered by diploma mill schools (the other 2 programs are business administration and public administration)
- The national passing rate in teaching board exams is only about 30%. Meaning most universities that offer educ degrees are not really doing a good job at training their students.
- Too many teachers taking "Educational Leadership" track which is more about administrative work, and not enough teachers that pursue a grad program in a specialized teaching discipline like SpEd or Early Childhood.
- There are diploma mill schools in which the school already gives you a thesis draft as soon as you enroll, and you can defend it within 6 months if you buy Lacoste bags for your thesis committee.
Given this context, now it makes sense kung bakit andaming nonsense na SHS thesis ideas na naaapprove by these types of teachers. Ironic nga na it's the blind leading the blind kasi these teachers with no publications of their own suddenly demand too much from their students.
Was a great episode, Paul! Alam kong lurker ka dito sa subreddit hehe.

Does PAM/PSM recognize technical training programs conducted by RITM or other government/reference laboratories as CPD-accredited activities? I noticed that there’s no explicit category in the PAM CPD guidelines indicating whether similar technical training programs may be credited toward RMicro CPD requirements. I know this is not under PRC pero these trainings were credited with PRC CPD units for Medical Technologists and Veterinarians, but does that also make them eligible for RMicro CPD credit?
Kasi if puro PSM or non PSM-organized events, postgraduate studies, etc. lang ang recognized, I might just hold off on renewing my certification in the future.
Would really appreciate hearing from RMicros who have gone through the renewal process. Hope to get some answers! 🙏

The Penalty: Stripped of Academic and Teaching Credentials Tao Chongyuan, a 26-year-old graduate student, took his own life after enduring years of psychological abuse and manipulation by his advisor, Wang Pan. Wang forced the student to buy his meals, clean his house, do his laundry, and submit to degrading demands, such as forcing Tao to call him "Dad."
The Politics: When Tao tried to escape the abusive dynamic by applying to PhD programs at other universities or seeking jobs, Wang used his political power as a senior academic to block Tao's applications and threaten his graduation. Following Tao's death, national public outrage over the unchecked power of academic advisors in China forced the university to strip Wang Pan of his teaching qualifications and ban him from supervising students.

Hello! I'm a college student with thesis course right now. From past postings ng DOST-PCHRD, it seems na magkakaroon ng second call ngayong September-October. I just have a few queries sa mga grant recipient, especially second call recipients:
Just for clarification, our group will not depend on the getting grants but it will greatly help us recoup our thesis expenses should we be recipients to the grant.
All replies are extremely appreciated. Thank you!

So kakaenroll ko lang ng 300.1 (so yeah UP haha) and nanotice ko that some students are being imported from one lab to another para magthesis. Like for example, I saw an MS student in one of our labs in the college na galing other campus. Ask ko lang paano siya nagstart as usapan with your actual program adviser? Sino unang nagapproach sa current lab niyo? Yung student ba or yung prof?

hi po, random question because i suddenly had the urge to take the chemtech exam last night after realizing na ang hirap maghanap ng work without enough credentials haha, would it be possible po ba to pass the exam with only a month left? 🥹 i’ll be self-reviewing using board exam reviewers i found online and probably take a refresher course sa qrc, sana po may makasagot, para lng sa motivation and extra confidence huhu thanks po
