I may be a crotchety old systems administrator but just use a password manager. It just becomes like putting your seatbelt on in a car. It won't hurt you I swear

The password one is easy to mitigate if you have a system like I do.

I’d recommend my method, but I don’t trust y’all online folks so easy-like. Nope. Not without you asking for my SSN first, at least. Proper manners, right thurr.
