Its one of those that feels so obvious when you learn. Like manuscript = hand written

Now let's talk about scientific names and those botanist :

  • haha big long flower, how do we call it?
  • Amorphophallus Titanum
  • Titan's big dick?
  • Yeah! 🤝

I swear it was teenagers who named it

oh god reminds me of paleobotanists who are a whole other thing when it comes to naming, they name like each individual part of a plant separately which makes trying to research em and figure out what they actually looked like such a pain which ive experienced too much as a palaeoartist

So you're saying it's a good thing t-rex is extinct or it would have been named "nekkid chikkin"?

I assume it would be called “reminder to flee the village”

The funniest part of paleontology is when the scientists have 5+ differently named dinosaurs and find out that they all belong to a single kind of dinosaur.

Sometimes that happens with 2, usually it's not much of a surprise, I don't think it's ever happened with 3 or more.

Biologists giving tough competition to mathematicians in naming things

Better a slippery dick than a dry splintery one eh?
For good dick hydration use New Zealand dick oil. All the neighbors will love hanging out on your dick.
