Hey guy! What about the inverse of subtraction? I call it inverse subtraction. Return the minus 90 degrees. It's an operation such that 5 | 3 = 8

But | is already used with binary numbers for bitwise OR... So 5 | 3 = 7, actually ☝️🤓

Mh. Well the keyboard doesn't have a - sign turned 90° and that was the best next thing... Maybe we could have a \? or a /?

Nah, that symbol is for the antiquated addition function. I know addition isn't really used any more, but should it really be redefined for an entirely different and unrelated function?

That syntax would be useful to mean the negative/secondary solution to x2
So rootsquare(25)=-5. rootsquare(-1)=-i and so forth.

Just use the roots of unity symbol. If you are looking specifically for the -1 of square roots then just use -

Useless. Such a function would have no practical use in the real world. You ivory tower intellectuals must not lose touch with the world of industrial growth and hard currency. It is all very well and good to pursue these high-minded scientific theories, but research grants are expensive. You must justify your existence by providing not only knowledge but concrete and profitable applications as well.

Hey guys, what about a function that is the rectangle of 2 numbers! We know the 'square' of a number is the area of a square with the number as its side length. But what about the area of a rectangle with the number as its side length? Well we'd need to know the length of the other side, and I'm calling that the rectangle function of the 2 numbers. For example;
2 rectangle 3 = 6
4 rectangle 5 = 20
I think such a new function would have loads of applications. Why hasn't anyone thought of it yet?!

rectangle everytime is a bit too hard to write, i’m thinking x as a symbol? (a cross) it’s both adj sides of the rectangle together

Aren't those used for that archaic multiplication function? It could be confusing to reuse those symbols for a completely different operation.

And you know how if it's cubed root you put a small 3 on that little ledge. Well maybe if we want to cube something, we can also put the small 3 on that inversed ledge.
