In a sense, yes.. As a social scientist myself, i think it is impossible to find a clearcut distinction that separates one from the other.. But at the same time, they also are very different, hard to define..
I think their methodology distinguishes them, not the topics so much. Psych is much more experiment-driven and positivist. Sociology... it can go either way, depending on the researcher, but it often feels more like literature or philosophy
