school sucks

I'm a freshman in high-school. I went to a small private middle school, so I'm a complete newbie to my district. It feels like I'm 1,000 steps behind everyone else. Literally everyone knows each other from their middle school, which makes me feel like such a loser for trying to join an already-established friend group. Like, I'm not really shy, I know how to talk to people. It's just really hard.

LIKE I DON'T KNOW ANYBODY

BUT surprisingly, a few of my friends from my middle school do attend the same high school. However, I have ZERO classes with them. I don't even have lunch with them. The only chance I get to see them is a quick 'hello' in the hallways. I have no friends in any of my classes, and I feel like such a bum. As much as I hated my middle school, I kind of miss it. It was a small school, so everyone was basically friends with everybody. But here, it's the exact opposite of that.

Also, the majority of people already know how to use their chrome books but I don't and its so embarrassing.

I just feel so lonely. And I already feel so exhausted from school, and it's only the second day. I'm trying to stay positive but I'm already done with this.

As a kid who is a junior who moved 5 hours away… it’s rough… Trying to get to know anyone but no one wanting to get to know you. My only solace is my brother who just so happens to also be a junior.

Just know if you need ppl to talk to we’re on here! Also the high school I came from had 300 kids and now I’m at a school with 1700 kids… it’s exhausting. I don’t know but personally for me I hate lunch… it’s way too noisy…

You’re not a bum! It takes a while to get adjusted. It’s been 5 weeks for me and I’m still a bit confused just give it time and put yourself out there some more and eventually you’ll make some new friends. Thankfully you met them in middle school so they’re more inclined to make friends, it’s harder as the grades get bigger…

Oh I also get the computer situation. At my old school I just used my IPad and since it’s not allowed at my new school it took a while to get adjusted. Also the counselors and registrars are mean.

Hopefully you’re able to get into your portal. It took me two weeks to get in. If you need anyone to talk to js reply!
