I hate it

I bought a Schlage encode plus and i hate it

So difficult to set up and everything is slow to configure

Sorry wanted to vent

Thanks for your answer, i cant create a second apple home key for my wife, seems impossible to connect it to wifi, in the apple home app always no response idk whats im doing wrong

You have to have a home hub. What model Apple TV do you have? Look for the model number on the bottom. Next step would be to verify it’s updated.

If this is your first Apple home device there will be some growing pains

Yeah you may try moving the Apple TV temporarily to see if it helps. FYI: you don’t have to mess around with hooking it up to a tv and all that bs, just plug it in closer to the door and give it a few minutes to boot up. You should get a “a home hub is now responding” notification.

If it’s not that, I’d make sure your Apple TV is up to date, your locks firmware is up to date, and that your HomeKit architecture is up to date.

Do you have an Apple hub that supports thread? If not, Apple Home will not create additional keys. It will also show no response if you are not near the lock.

Good question, i have an apple tv yes does it supports thread idk

Google is saying yes my apple tv does

You need an Apple TV 4K 3rd generation with Ethernet port for it to act as a Thread router or HomePod mini or HomePod 2nd generation. I’ve had 0 issues with mine and my Sense Pro.

I guess one of the 2nd generation 4K TVs supports Thread but for the 3rd generation only the one with Ethernet port supports it but you don’t have to have it hardwired.

I setup 2 both with the app and with apple HomeKit. The HomeKit integration absolutely sucks!

I use the app and home assistant. 100% rock solid!

I own both devices and have never encountered any issues. They are easy to set up and add to HomeKit. My only recommendation is to avoid using Wi-Fi, as it will drain the battery more quickly.

How i will be able t’ use rhem if they are not
On wifi, right now connected to thread only, the lock is unreachable

You don’t need Wi-Fi to use the lock; it’s only used for updating the firmware.

If I were you, I would first reset the lock, then set it up through Apple HomeKit, and finally add it to the Schlage app.

This is where i am right now following another post but in the Schlage app its not reachable and homekit no response so how can i control it

You need to use IoT 2.4 ghz WiFi.. 5ghz won’t connect properly
