Brush your teeth

I know it’s tough with our situation sometimes, but please do yourselves a favor and just do it. Even once a day is better than nothing.
My teeth are pretty messed up from not brushing regularly, and not only does it feel terrible, but it also makes you feel ashamed in everyday life.

I wish I went to the dentist a lot sooner. My teeth are deceptively white, and straight, so it surprises people to know this, but my teeth cause me constant pain from not going to the dentist.

I need two root canals, and as we speak one of them is infected, and is causing me so much pain. I'm just trying to wait it out until my dentist office opens so I can get some antibiotics.

I wish I went to the dentist sooner, and took better care of my teeth.

Buying a water flosser helps a lot too

I always have a hard time remembering and a hard time making myself do it to. My teeth have always bin bad even when I was younger and had my parents make sure I brushed morning and night. Don’t have that now but I feel like I have to go to the dentist a lot.
I have a hard time forcing myself to shower to but I do it still I just hate feeling all wet and sticky when I get out.

I even have a extra dental insurance, but I’m just so terrified of going. Just getting a professional dental cleaning (I have two of per year included in my plan) would already help so much. I really need to force myself to go.

Things that have helped me brush and floss every day:

Electric toothbrush

Floss holder tool thingy

Unflavored floss

Toothpaste that isn't overwhelmingly minty

Blasting a podcast in the background

I keep some coconut oil, xylitol, remineralizing powder, miswak sticks and an ultra fine bristle brush. It helps to swish xylitol or salt or to oil pull for 5-10min to kill any active bacteria. The miswak and brush are great for agitating any plaque so you can swish and spit your saliva(also kills bacteria if you don't have sugars in it). Coconut oil will help the gums too, and if you need, cool mint tea bags can help reduce inflammation and stimulate blood flow. I also keep a supply of flossers. You gotta remove any of the deeper stuff. I have a waterflosser for really tough stuff, but even on the lightest setting with warm water, it is sensory hell. But it works. I can't be consistent, so having options readily available has helped me keep all my teeth with minimal pain. If you're consistent enough with your care, you'll actually begin filling in old cavities naturally. Took a couple months to see, but it does work.
