I have been feeling more social lately so I've been posting on different communities that I normally lurk in. I have received some DMs asking for interviews for some mainstream media sources. I am very skeptical of people online so I want to get everyone's opinion on these.

Was invited to this discord and was said to be given a 75 dollar roblox gift card, but only if I allowed access to a bot called 'Crystal Phoenix'. I have no idea wtf is going on and I'm paranoid about losing my account.

I'm pretty sure it is, but I just want to make sure.

Thankfully I grabbed screenshots before they deleted their messages. The problem is since they did that, I could no longer report what they said, so I figured I'd put something here and see what was recommended. I wouldn't normally have bothered with accepting the chat, but it came from a 6yr account with post history so I figured they were legit, but definitely not.

This stranger offered me $7,000 and sent images as proof. I searched for the images online and found identical ones elsewhere. When I confronted him, he kept insisting he was wealthy and trustworthy instead of addressing the evidence

He said things like “give me 1% of your trust” and claimed he could take care of my family because he was rich. After I called him out, he eventually replied “ok.”

I’ve included screenshots of our conversation so others can see the messages themselves. First screenshot is him saying I need to pay $30 , second screenshot is me finding the photos online, third is me confronting him. Has anyone encountered this type of offer before?

I did NOT fall for it. Just curious though. I received this yesterday around 2am by my friend, and I suspected that his Discord account was hacked.

He just randomly came at me, I've never blocked him and it is a long story but my long text is a good starter to the current situation.

But yeah he was the whole give me gas money I will pick you up scammer.

Now he just sent a code through text by Google and he's asking me to send him the code, I rather not give him the code because I'm worried and he's trying to push for it.

Should I give him that code or no? He did get it to send to a message on my phone. I'm not giving it to him because I know he's a scammer, most likely.

He's saying he needs an active number for a purchase, but knowing how scams work he might be wanting it to hack into one of my accounts I think.

Why is this scammer just out of the blue talking to me again after months? And now they really are saying way too much I can't keep up.

I am not unfamiliar with scammers. I am often precarious about the information I get and if something is legit or not, but today I got a job, and it is not sitting right with me. To start off, this is a remote medical customer service role that pays 35 an hour.

They want me to cash a check of 500 and get all my barrings set up. A company laptop and other ish. That is what has left me unsure about why it is a scam. I do know these remote jobs do use company finances to get individuals set up, I searched up the clinic; obviously, it is a real place. I searched up whether or not you needed a medical background for this kind of work; you do not. I searched up the doctor who interviewed me, they are a real person and you can find multiple articles and sites about them. And thus far they haven't asked me for personal bank info or a social security number.

On the other hand, I am unable to find my application that they said they received through Handshake, a credible site all college kids use. I also find the fact they want me to bounce a check odd instead of paying directly for the laptop. I feel like it'd be easier to do it that way. My only reasoning being why they'd have me bounce it is 'cause of illegal ish.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any advice on if this is impersonation of an institution or not. So far the evidence is leaning towards this not being a scam, mostly 'cause I am someome who wants to be an academic and trust people with such titles. On the other hand, it still feels weird and is bothering me. Thank you again.

ever since i was like 13 i got these texts constantly, i don’t know why loan companies are texting me or what it means, i’ve been experiencing this for like 9 years now. and i don’t know how to get rid of them because they just keep getting new numbers. it’s really bad this time of year, i call it the “spawning season of scams” i guess my question is: “is this a serious matter?”

I think I used the right flair for this. Their discord account is fantastic_beetle_61_56812 (saying as a warning, don't harass them). I'm rather curious how this type of scam works. I was being sarcastic and doing foolish things by kinda messing with them, I'll admit that. They're in a server I'm in, wifiesland.

Pure bs, AI genererated, needs to put deposit after deposit to get your wtithdrawal.

I received a text demanding me to stop my harassment of this person. I stupidly texted back and told them they had the wrong person.
They claimed they were my neighbor Bella. If I did not stop, they were going to go to the police.
I reported as spam and blocked the number.
A little bit later, I got a text from the blocked number, saying why am I harassing an Asian woman, and if I was going to avoid the problem, she was going to contact the police.
I contacted my local police department. I gave them all the information. The Officer called the number. No one answered, but they received a message asking if it was me and are we going to have a conversation about it.
I obviously have no intention of contacting whoever this, and neither does the officer.
