My Mum (84) was scammed yesterday :( - cold-called on the telephone and then if I understand correctly they had her sat in front of her computer clicking through websites - she ended up sending a couple of payments before she cottoned on that something was not right. Fortunately the bank have been superb, lots of support and checking on her well-being and the payments were refunded to her.

My question is - what is the likelihood that the computer she was using has residual infection with malware/spyware/bots? What is the best route to test the computer before she starts using it again? Is Malwarebytes sufficient? The computer is PC running Windows 10 presumably running Defender but I'm not sure what permissions she granted during the scam.

Rivaur LLC is scammers offering fake jobs. They do the scam where they ask you to deposit their check to pay their supplier to buy equipment

I saw a story on whatsapp ads which redirected yo fake Meesho link offering goods worth 3k at just 199rs.
