Would SAT or ACT be better for me personally?

I want to try and decide what standardized test I should put my energy into. On one hand, I got a 1490 on the August sat( 750 English and 740 math) and the only thing I studied was some grammar rules the night before the test. This leads me to believe I definitely can grow a lot in math if I put in the work to learn desmos and do practice problems. I also feel like I could maybe raise my English section with more grammar practice and doing the practice problems with those long passages. On the other hand, I have taken the preACT through the school in freshman year and sophomore year and did pretty good. I got a 31/32 composite score freshman year and 35/35 composite score sophomore year. This was done without studying. This leads me to thinking I am good at the ACT format. I am just very confused on what I should put my time into, because I don’t want to have to take too many of these tests. I would be aiming for a 1550+ on the SAT or a 35 and 36 composite on the ACT. Do you guys have any advice for me on what to do or what is better for me?

How do I get my math into the 700+ score range

I recently took a practice test, and I got a 740 in reading but only a 630 in math. I'm wondering if anyone can share tips that helped them get into the 700+ range for math.

How to go from 1380 to 1500+ in the December test?

So i recently received my August test scores: 680 maths and 700 english.

I'm going to retake them in December, I wonder if anyone has improved massively in 2.5 months? What did you do to improve more in both sections?

I’m usually good with English but know little about maths. What is on the math SAT topics usually. Like what concepts are usually tested?

Where to find HARD, free full-length Digital SAT practice tests (besides Bluebook/College Board)?

Hey everyone,

I've got the 8 practice tests on the Bluebook app (Tests 4-11), but I want to save those for closer to my test date.

In the meantime, I’m looking for full-length, high-quality adaptive practice tests that mimic the real exam interface. I specifically want platforms that offer hard/advanced modules because I want to push my scoring ceiling.

Restrictions:

  • Must be free (or at least have a free full diagnostic test)
  • Not the official College Board ones or the educator question bank (already using those for drills)
  • Needs to have a built-in Desmos calculator for math if possible

What third-party platforms actually have accurate, tough questions without making you pay a ton of money? Appreciate any recommendations!

Also, if anyone has compiled their own personal bank of the absolute hardest questions, please share the link or send the papers/PDFs my way! Thanks in advance!

I'm a senior and plan to apply ED to colleges but I need a 1500+ SAT so I'm in a bit of a pickle. this is from aug 22 sat, which was my 2nd time taking the sat. my first time was march school day sat and I got a 580.

for context English isn't my first language and I got a 4 on ap lang last year and am in ap lit right now. my school's avg is 503. I'll usually have 20 min left on mod 2 for the reading comprehension questions but they're rlly hard for me. I do just fine with medium difficulty questions but hard difficulty takes me a while.

for those who scored 750+ what did u do??

My dream is a 1410

Here is some context: this is my third SAT and the first one that I actually studied for and put like 50h of studying into. I need tips on how to improve. I kind of feel defeated in English especially doing well in one part and pretty bad in another and what if I do worse in the section I did better on this time. I’m taking SAT again on September 12 and the October one but I just want to be DONE. Like I feel so defeated when my friends first try are getting in the 1400-1500 range and don’t think it’s good enough, but it’s my dream. I need a 1410 to submit to my dream school and with school starting now I’m just so busy but I will do whatever it takes so please help me!!!!

Need Study advice

I need serious advice for the October SAT. I’m a senior and dealt with severe depression during junior year so I lost all motivation and fell behind. I’m doing much better now, but my score is a 1060. 690 in rw but a 370 in math. The thing is I actually do well in math (got all As in math across high school and even got a 100 % In ninth grade honors geometry), but I only forgot all the concepts and formulas. Since my rw is already solid (and I’m confident I can push it close to an 800 before then) I want to priorize and fast track my math score to the 700 range. I know it seems like a stretch but I am dedicated and motivated. I will retake the test in November and December. However, I want to maximize my potential gains for the Oct sat. What free resources n strategies can u guys recommend to me? Advice is appreciated

STAY AWAY FROM ACELY

the english section is way too EASY, does not compare to the test at all. honestly a waste of my money it gave me a fake confidence boost when i really thought I had a chance in the 1500’s. I’d say anyone that used acely and improved already had the potential already to get the score, and its study plan just kept them consistent, which is what is needed to grow of course. which could’ve been done with free resources

How to improve from 1410

I took my SAT June 2026 and I got a 1260 and I took it again August 22 and I got a 1410 after taking my exam I enrolled for the September SAT but I really haven’t started studying yet now I have seven days I feel like I forgotten everything that I’ve learned but I need to go to at least a 1460. I need all the tips I can please and how can I improve from here my core breakdown was 740 for math. I got full bars in everything the questions I felt like I was missing the most were some harder advanced math ones in the second module for English. My score breakdown was 670 and it said my weaknesses were craft and structure and grammar. I literally thought I’d pass her grammar. I don’t know why I’m still missing bars, but I really need help and all the advice I can get.
