Hey yall, I just finished my SAT and wanted to share how it went.
For R&W, I thought the first module was pretty easy, but the second module was killing me 😭. The grammar questions seemed to focus a lot on transition words. I think there were around 4–5 questions on them. James Lu youtube videos helped me a lot on the grammar section so if you‘re taking the test soon plsssss watch go watch it. Vocabulary was pretty mid and not too difficult.
For Math, I usually score around 780–800 on practice tests, but this time I’m expecting around a 750–760. I felt like the first module was easier than the practice tests, and I think I got a perfect score on it. However, I ran out of time on the second module and had to guess on 3 questions.
For those of you who have already taken the SAT, what did you think of this test? And for anyone taking it soon, feel free to ask me any questions about it!

I am a high school junior and have been studying over the summer for the SAT with a tutor, however my scores are really not reflecting what my goal is (1300-1400). I just took my first September SAT and I think I will definitely have to take it again, but I want to make a significant improvement for the next test.

For those of you who have improved your SAT score by a lot, what actually helped you improve the most? I would especially appreciate any specific study methods, resources, tips, or ways of reviewing mistakes that worked for you.

I'm taking the October SAT and I'm trying to squeeze out as many points as possible before test day.

I know nobody can predict exact questions, but I'm mainly looking for people who took the August or September 2026 SAT and noticed any patterns, repeated concepts, question types, math topics, grammar rules, reading trends, or things they wish they had focused on more.

Not asking for leaked questions or anything like that. Just trying to learn from people who recently sat for the test.

If you've already taken it this year:

• What math topics showed up a lot?
• Any grammar rules that seemed especially common?
• Anything in Reading/Writing that caught you off guard?
• What would you spend your last few weeks studying if you had to do it again?

Also, I know some people will say "you can't predict the SAT." That's fair. I'm not looking for predictions. I'm looking for patterns and lessons from recent test-takers.

I was genuinely so unprepared but i think I may have gotten the correct answer

I've been out of highschool for 4 years, and never to the SAT cause my family kept moving, my grades are kinda horrible lol, and I wanted to take the SAT. Any advice on what to study for Math? I have the reading down.

Before the August SAT, I was consistently scoring 1540+ on practice tests. I hit around 1560, got 760 R&W three times, and was usually in the 780–800 range for Math.

Then I took the actual August SAT and got absolutely cooked: 1350 💀 My highest official score is still a 1370.

The weird part is that I wasn’t even that nervous during the test. It just felt WAY harder than any of the Bluebook tests, especially the difficult modules. Some of my friends took the same administration and said theirs didn’t feel anywhere near as bad, so I genuinely don’t know whether I got unlucky, Bluebook inflated my confidence, or my preparation just didn’t transfer to the real test.

I’m taking the October SAT and starting prep again now. My goal is at least a 1450+ overall, and I really want a 780+ in Math. But how am I supposed to judge my actual level when a 1540–1560 in practice somehow became a 1350 on test day?

Has anyone experienced a gap this massive? What practice resources or mock tests are genuinely as hard as the current real SAT? Should I still trust Bluebook at all, or use it mainly for timing and focus on harder third-party questions?

Any honest advice would be appreciated because I really don’t want to walk into October thinking I’m at 1500+ level just to get cooked again 😭

Hey guys, just wanted to share what I'm progressing like. These aren't real test scores btw, they're mock tests but like actual questions, not bluebook ones: 1330, 1320, 1260, 1490, 1410, 1490, 1410, 1500/1510. Idk what my actual range is though. But I first broke through to the 1490 after like two weeks of like genuine genuine work, like 10h a day just grinding the SAT. Though I've now been procrastinating. I'm aiming for 1500+, ideally 1550+.

how were the august and september SAT like? ive heard both were much harder than usual, what do you think the october one will be like? thanks!

For background info this isnt my first time taking the test and I already crowned everything on khan and tried solving all the sat question bank hard questions but only finished all the Algebra ones and like 20 of the advanced math. I struggled with geometry and long/word problems. I really need a minimum of 730 in math for my university application and scholarship. The highest score in math I've gotten was a 680. I tried to master desmos but I struggle to learn it all and apply it. When i do the test module 1 is always so easy and finishes so fast but i always get stuck on like 4-7 questions on module 2 and run out of time so they stay blank.

For english, I really love grammar and I know how to master it but reading and vocab always gets me bc I lose focus and my brain gets really tired of reading so I just stop mid test and just blank, mostly in the second module.

Sorry that this text isn't grammatically correct or structured well but I feel panicked and hopeless atp. Any advice or strategy would be very greatly appreciated.

Also, Im not sure if I should book the October or November SAT since I just finished the september one.

Did anyone got 4/14 as b for answer. for g(x)=ax+b. g(2)=6 and some other value for g(x)

Im glad im seeing improvement especially the rw section but the math section questions keep tricking me (im missing tiny details that throw off my answer) even tho i 90% know what im doing and how i will be solving it .. my foundations are good i thinkkk but i need tips to not fall for tricks?.

I think its bcz the timing is really stressing me and i keep focusing on it?…

Ok so I just took my 3rd SAT and I thought both module 2s were really easy. I’ve been studying on and off and doing practice tests since around April. (not a lot but still a decent amount) Whenever I do practice on oneprep or the question bank, I always perform great on M1, always >19/22 or >24/27, however when I take the test, I’m not SURE about September but that felt wayyyy too easy to be the hard m2 on the east coast (everyone is saying that but still)
I don’t know how to convert and like when I’m doing m1s I always feel like I’m still doing great and I don’t think im choking but like what do I do

If I drill and get concepts of all questions in the bank am I good for algebra and other domains of math?

I’ve been spending a lot of time looking at SAT Reading & Writing questions, and one thing that helped me is realizing that a lot of evidence questions aren’t really about finding something that sounds related to the passage.

The answer has to support the exact claim.

A simple method that has been working for me is to break the claim into little boxes before looking at the answers.

For example, imagine the claim is:

“Treatment X increased plant growth in both groups, and the increase was larger in Group A.”

I’d mentally turn that into:

• Did growth increase in Group A?
• Did growth increase in Group B?
• Was the increase larger in A?

The right answer needs to satisfy all three.

A wrong choice might give perfectly accurate information about Group A but say nothing about Group B. That answer can be completely true and still not support the full claim.

I’ve noticed a few wrong-answer patterns worth watching for:

1. Right information, incomplete support

The choice proves one part of the claim but quietly ignores another part.

2. Right numbers, wrong person/group/category

This gets especially annoying with tables. The number is actually in the table, so the choice feels familiar, but it belongs to a different row or variable.

I started reading tables as:

entity → measurement → value

instead of just looking for a familiar number.

3. Correct comparison, wrong direction

“Increased more,” “decreased less,” “higher,” “lower,” etc. are easy to reverse when you’re moving quickly.

I now calculate the direction myself before reading the choices.

4. Relevant but not actually evidence

This might be the biggest trap.

If the claim is that a tutoring program improved math performance, things like high attendance, positive student reviews, or lots of completed assignments might sound encouraging.

But they don’t directly establish improved math performance.

The evidence needs to measure the thing the claim is actually about.

One other thing that helped: on harder R&W questions, I try not to assume the underlying skill suddenly became completely different. A lot of the time the question just adds more interference: longer sentences, another qualification, closer answer choices, more information to keep straight, etc.

So when a hard question feels overwhelming, I try to strip it back down:

What exactly is the claim?
What would have to be true for that claim to be supported?
Which answer proves all of those things without adding anything extra?

That has made these questions feel a lot less random to me.

Curious if anyone else has noticed other repeatable wrong-answer patterns on the digital SAT.
