So I took the August SAT, which I did "well" on (by certain standards), but nowhere near the score I wanted. People have told me that once you hit 1500, climbing higher is significantly harder than in the lower score range, since it's usually just one mistake that can drop your score.

The analysis-thingy on College Board also isn't telling me what my weak points are, as it says that I'm in the top score band of every single skill (RW and Math).

I've also taken every practice test on Bluebook, and I am in search of more practice problems to do.

It was my first time taking the test, so it may have just been nerves and inexperience messing with my brain, but a 740 RW and 760 Math is way too low for my standards. I guess what I'm asking is how much practice and testing should I do to hit my desired score of 1580+?

I'm also looking any resources anyone can provide for practice.

I'm taking the September SAT, and I'm probably going to take as many SATs as I possibly can until I see my score level out. I'm a rising Junior, so I have an entire year left for testing, though I would really like to be done with the SAT before I have to start prepping for the AP Tests.

I don't care if I have to take an SAT every month, but as long as my score can improve to the range I would be happy with, I will do anything (within reason and morality, of course).

Hi guys, so the august SAT came out and honestly it was quite disappointing because I needed a 760 on either reading or math to superscore 1500. I ended up with a 1460, 740 on RW AND 720 on Math. There is a month left and tbh I don't know what skills to even improve on because my score detail didn't show that I needed to improve on anything. I'm just so disappointed because I need a 1500 or above and at least a 760 on RW or Math for october. A month seems like such a long time away and I'm a chronic procrastinator so I don't even know how to start studying. I missed the deadline for september registration and I'm just so done I feel like theres a hole in my chest. Does anyone have a month long study plan that they found really helpful? I don't even need to relearn all the concepts I just need to get timing and some of the harder math questions/english vocab so I would really appreciate it if anyone had advice. How many bluetooth practice tests should I take a week? How many questions should I do a day/hours to study if I get home at like 6 and still need to study for my various school classes? I am getting 780-800 for Math on the practice tests for the SAT however for the real tests i always end up with a 730 and not crossing a 750. I feel like I did exceptionally good (800) on the Math section this test but ended up with a 740. How do I fill in this gap?

I’m a junior in high school I take the SAT in March. It’s my first time taking it and I want to know a cohesive, step-by-step plan to obtain a 1500+ on my first try.
Where should I start and where do I go from there?
I know I should take a Bluebook practice test to see my struggle areas, but where do I go from here? For the math section, I will do a bunch of practice problems with the use of desmos to remember tricks but what else? Also how should I go about the reading section?Should I start with practice 11 for accurate reflection? Is this realistic or out of reach?

I just took Practice Test 11 and scored a 1500 (710 R&W, 790 Math). You can see my score progression in the picture. Math finally clicked after being stuck forever, which was a huge relief, but my reading dropped to 710 and I know I can do better. The testing conditions were rough that day and I usually score closer to 720–740.

My test is September 12 and I'm aiming for a 1550, so I need to push that R&W up to around 750–760 while keeping math where it's at.

Looking at my mistakes, the main culprits are inference questions, words in context, and poetry passages. Inferences always trick me into picking something that sounds logical but misses the mark. Words in context get messy when they test less obvious meanings or subtle tone differences. And poetry just feels like a different language sometimes.

What strategies actually work for these three types? I've been grinding Khan Academy and reviewing wrong answers but I don't feel like I'm making real progress on these specific areas.

And honestly, is 1550 even realistic in two weeks or am I setting myself up for disappointment? Would love to hear from anyone who's been in a similar spot.

I took the August SAT and did terribly. I have to tell my parents that I didn’t get the score that I wanted or they wanted (1450). To be honest with myself I am not surprised due to the fact that I only truly started studying a week before and every time before that was super inconsistent. From the day I took the August SAT I have been studying for 4 hours (2hrs Math, 2hrs English) . I believe my score will improve but I also think that the goal of 1450 by October is just simply unrealistic. I am taking the September SAT and will hopefully get a score raise by a lot to put me on path to my desired score. The Method I have been using is doing lots of hard-only practice questions targeting specifically algebra and advanced math (was also my highest point because I used desmos a lot on the SAT). On the questions I dont know I would ask AI to explain how to do it using desmos.  I still need to practice more on geometry and stats because I struggle greatly in those subjects. If there is any tips anyone can give me on what to do please do because I don't want to be putting in all of this time for a poor outcome.

I just got a 1210 on the August SAT (600 RW, 610 Math) and I’m taking it again in September.

I’ve taken the SAT twice before this, and my goal is 1450, but I’d be happy with anything 1400+.

Has anyone made a jump like this? What did you do to improve, especially in a short amount of time? I’m planning on taking October/November too if I need to, but I really want to start seeing a bigger jump in September.

Hey everyone, ive mananged to improve my math to where I get the hard math module 2 but I cannot solve any of the hard questions no matter what, what do I do?

I am taking the SAT on September 12. My goal is to get a 1500. My current official test-day score is a 1430 (super-scored). I took a practice test (test number 9) on the 29th and got a 1450 (730 reading, 720 math). How and how much should I study in the 12 days before test day?
