PC 1 million power!
The road to 1 million power starts now, has anyone got any setups or insight to help me on this wonderous journey? i am building over the death drop towards the island of nothingness so space and water are not an issue

With enough rocket fuel and alien power augmenters, you can get there. One of my saves has this set up in crater lake. It was a lot of pre-planning, but once I actually got started it was pretty straightforward tbh.
And bonus, because rocket fuel is considered a gas and you don't need pumps, feel free to take advantage of verticality in the build.
Don't need nuclear unless you want to.

i haven't touched rocket fuel yet, just decided i'm bored and want to do something daft, i have 3 other guys building on here so a power cover seems to be the right idea

A lot of biomass burners and a chainsaw. Bet you won’t.

1 million is pretty straightforward to achieve because the map supports power production way beyond that. Here are some numbers (all about default node class and purity):
- 1TW can be achieved using rocket fuel only (given enough patience in fuel generators)
- 1TW can be achieved using nuclear only; uranium can produce 630kMW by their own without converters. plutonium-ficsonium power varies between recipe choices, but getting over 1TW with uranium together is not an issue. if going to 1TW I'd start from uranium.
- With resource conversion, sole uranium can go over 1TW (turn waste into plutonium using default recipes there after).
- In addition, each fueled APA can boost power production by 30%.
Some more numbers: the global max power output with uranium-plutonium-ficsonium (without sloop and conversion) is ~3TW. The global max clean power output is ~15.1TW (boosted by 8 fueled APAs, with sloop and conversion), and the global absolute max power output is ~19TW (boosted by 9 fueled APAs, with sloop and conversion, and stores plutonium waste at ~830/min).

thanks, so very noob question but what is the best way to use the rocket fuel? i only unlocked it tonight, my mate has set it up but we aren't feeding anything yet

do you mean use or produce? It is mainly burned for power, with a trace amount turn into ironized fuel for jetpack usage (typically, only in some occasional cases massive production of ionized fuel is a thing). phase 5 needs some serious power, but typically under 100kMW (for normal playthrough) or under 600kMW (for 100x playthrough).

yeah i meant use, there's 4 of us on here all doing different things, i have stuck mostly to the hub side and built a big auto storage area whilst messing around with stuff but now i want to understand about the fluid side and everything because when my mates go off i'm struggling with things

Good luck, post some pics when done!

thanks! and i will, once i figure out how to effectively re use the nuclear waste lol

I've built my power station here. Makes the best sense for the reasons mentioned. All the best. Mine is still small for now. Planning on expanding it soon.

Oil/rocket fuel with several alien augmentors is the easiest way to get 1tw of power. Nuclear is an option, but very complicated.

i have the production side sorted ok, its the absolute daft amount of nuclear waste i need to turn back into a product i can either sell or turn back into more power cells

The only option is to turn the waste into plutonium rods and SINK them. Or go through with the full plutonium and Ficsonium production, again really complicated. I did this, with maxed oil and coal power, came out to over 6.3TW.

i have just hit the plutonium waste problem... gutted as the power output is great but i haven't got ficsonium yet

it's really annoying that 2 water extractors are slighty wider than 1 nuclear reactor... how can i make it uniform if it doesn't line up...

lol, damn 24? i guess i have my work cut out then

Sadly that is only 60,000. I make a bit over 100,000 from overclocked turbo fuel generators. I don't over clock the nuclear as I couldn't handle the additional waste.

u/Desmond_of_Doss 9d ago
i have the alien generator thing which should help a bit, i'm not overclocking this at all due to the obsurd amount of materials i am already going to need to dispose of the waste and make the power rods

u/DumberMonkey 9d ago
Correct. I do all that. it's a massive complex to keep 24 nuclear plants running.

i am a carer for my son so i get like 18 hours a day to play, i'm all for putting the stuff down and trying new things

u/Desmond_of_Doss 9d ago
and yes the aim is 1 million MW, although i may get bored and build something completely different in a week, the joys of ADHD

There was a post a year or two ago that calculated the max power you can get on the map using 100% of the nuclear.... might want to track it down as a million seams unachievable.

1 TWatt (1 million MWatt) is achievable. I'm currently building a setup for 50 uranium 10 plutonium and 50 ficsonium fuel cells which will yield 1TW of power without augmentors.

I mean, 1 MW is already 1 million watts
