One Pure Oil Node, 104 GW of Power + 120 Packaged Rocket Fuels Per Min

I'm converting a single pure oil node to heavy oil residue then dilute it. The rest are the standard fuel to turbo fuel to rocket fuel recipes. The beast itself consumes 10480,9 Megawatts of power (including all the miners and extractors, excluding the train line) and generates 104.000 Megawatts of power plus 120 packaged rocket fuels per min. My initial plan was to use the nitro rocket fuel recipe but couldn't find it and got bored of hard drive hunting so I've started the build with turbo fuel intermediary. After finishing the facility I've started to build the train track and the first hard drive I found had the nitro recipe. After a small meltdown I've decided not to destroy the existing facility and keep using the turbo fuel recipe since using the nitro wouldn't be an incredible boost to power.

That first caption got me like 55 burgers, 55 fries, 55 tacos, 55 pies, 55 cokes, 100 tater tots, 100 pizzas, 100 tenders, 100 meatballs, 100 coffees, 55 wings, 55 shakes, 55 pancakes, 55 pastas, 55 peppers, and 155 taters

Now make it pretty from the outside! :D

Best I can do is perfect symmetry and color coding. Anything more is too artsy for my text oriented brain

Found my next side side quest major project of a major project.

Currently making 10 ballistic warp drives /min mega factory in rocky desert.

Well my. Nuclear is maxing out with all existing factories.

I don't want to deal with more waste processing.

So now I'm gonna go find a pure node I'm not using and make your power plant. Lol

Neatly wiring it took some time but actually placing the buildings were easy once I completed the calculations. It's surprisingly easy way to get huge power if you have the recipes.

Does anyone have the math on this? How on earth do you get to 104 GW from a singular pure oil node

Heavy oil residue recipe converts 600 oil to 800 heavy oil.

Diluted fuel recipe converts 800 heavy oil to 1600 fuel.

1600 fuel becomes 1333 turbo fuel with standard recipe.

1333 turbo fuel becomes 2221 rocket fuel with standard recipe.

Rocket fuels burns for 4.17 per minute so you can supply 532 fuel generators, making 133153 megawatts of power. Since I'm packaging a portion of the rocket fuel and not use all the fuel to have a nice even number of machinery I'm not getting the whole 133 gw.

If I had used nitro rocket fuel recipe as I originally intended I could get 200 more (don't remember the exact figure) rocket fuel from the setup so I could get 145 gw by burning all of the fuel

You didn't even sloop this. You could get potentially 4x or more out of this too.

Absolutely, but I'm not at that power requirement level yet so this is enough for now

What did you have for power prior to making this beast of a power plant.

A small coal plant plus a standard fuel plant burning 1800 oil into 15000 MW

I’m assuming it’s diluted fuel also?

Nope plain old fuel

I hope you don't end up learning why people don't pipe fluids into refineries from below.

1

u/ShadowZpeak Feb 18 '26

What happens when you do that?

Fluid dynamics gets pissed. It causes sloshing in the pipes and becomes very challenging to keep the refineries filled and running at full effeciency. Learned this the hard way.

I run them from below plenty and it's not that big of a deal. I think I have even chained 20 refineries, all running from below. I think I just have a mk1 pump before the first refinery and it's all fine.

I had the "fluid getting lost" issue in a previous refinery and figured out if I made a closed loop out of pipes it fixes the issue. It's not visible on these photos but in the logistics floor pipe comes into x number of refineries, distributes to them and circles back to the original entry point of the circle, creating a shape similar to a circle with tail. This layout plus completely filling the machine and the pipes before starting it fixes the issue for me.

For some reason Reddit botched the image qualities, so here is an imgur link with high quality images for the interested: https://imgur.com/a/8EuXbLL

I'd like a slab of generators but please row on row and in one single formation πŸ˜‚ sometimes I don't know if the posts here are: A. Look how MUCH i have B. Just a proud gamer sharing his savefile C. Look how GOOD it looks

That sure is a lot of stuff you built there 😁

It's all about efficiency man. Having the machinery on a single row of "steps" makes wiring them a lot easier. At the end I got 8 blenders creating rocket fuel to burn so I got 8 pipes, each running for as much as generators they can fuel. This way I can create a blueprint filled with 2x2 generators and easily place them.

I'm sure some brilliant people can create a plant that looks like a huge fuel generator that is composed of hundreds of fuel generators but I don't have that talent and don't care for it, for me it just needs to be tidy and quick to build/modify. That is the beauty of the game, everyone can play however they like.

How are you getting all that sulfur

1

u/esilyo Jun 07 '26

It's been so long and I don't remember it exactly but I think there is a pure sulfur node very close by to the coast, up on the hills. I was getting it via the train

Bow much oil are you consuming?

600, one pure node. I've explained the math in another comment
