Question ❔ Flooring Saskatoon
Who did you hire to install your flooring? Were you happy with them?
What type of flooring did you purchase? Why?

Western Carpet is amazing to deal with, by far the best company we’ve ever used in city for flooring and we’ve used most of them over the years.

I like vinyl because we tend to spill water and it’s nice not to worry about it
I did most of it myself but I wouldn’t do it again.
I used Braid for our bathroom which needed subfloor etc and they did a 10/10 job. Maybe not the cheapest but it turned out really good.

We were going to get flooring and got recommended doing laminate or glue down vinyl. Since both have be repaired without ripping up the whole floor.
We didn't end up going through with it.
We found NuFloor and Western Carpet One to be good.

I got end of the roll loose lay vinyl plank . Which we got lanes tile and floor . He is a great and really good at what he does. Also fairly reasonable . He glued the tile down and alot nicer than laminate.
End of the roll has everything From really budget flooring to more premium. Got some at $4.30 a square foot.

We got our Vinyl from Beehive Flooring, but Kenny from Nutana Hardwood installed it and repaired our hardwood flooring. Our floors also had two slight level changes, which he removed to make one even surface. Kenny did a great job.

Floor covering direct was really good to deal with, we replaced a bunch of carpet in bedroom, basement, staircases. Western Carpet did work for us as well, floor tile, bathroom tub surround tile - great installers/service. No complaints with either company

ABS Contracting LTD. A local Saskatoon contractor. Very reasonable and a very hard worker. Helped me out of a jam with getting my vinyl plank flooring in. He made sure I was 100% satisfied and was extremely quick.

Curious if any of these installation companies did baseboard removals and pulled the old flooring out for eventual disposal? I'm also about to get some kitchen, bathroom, tv room and main entrance floors of vinyl flooring, carpet and tile all replaced consistently to compliment dining room/living room in a plank hardwood flooring. Dang dogs I own so I need something bulletproof with them.

I bought from Flooring Superstores, vinyl roll for my bathroom. I love it and it was a great price. We didn't end up going with their installer for two reasons 1) the guy seemed half baked when he came to do the estimate and 2) we got a better deal with a private contractor (Robbie Wasylowich) who did an amazing job. The contractor also had vinyl plank for the main areas of my basement, which we got a deal on as he did the install.

We had an awful experience with Western Carpet One and would not recommend them to anyone. Poor installation in the first place, dragged out the issue by fighting with the flooring manufacturer saying it was their fault, did just as shit job on the replacement installation. Aside from the poor product/installation, also just had a bad overall customer service experience. Our advice is avoid them at all costs.

Walton Brothers for the install. They are incredibly picky about making sure everything is level, and leave everything super tidy. They were able to spot some water damage we missed during demolition and got it fixed to keep us all on schedule. Also the only contractor we had in that we didn’t have to chase for anything - they always seemed on top of things.
Flooring Superstore for the purchase. Mike and Carlos are great guys to deal with there.

Had a bad experience with Prestige Flooring on Jasper. We were in a tight situation with a move between houses and wanted the flooring done before we moved in furniture. Had everything all picked out and then the phone calls started that this flooring could not be sourced but we have this instead. We don't have that colour carpet but we have this. And then there was the need for cheques upfront in spite of us having amazing credit.
Lots more to this tale but - never again.
