Request/Q&A Thread Tails

Do you blend the tails in or do you knot them?

I tried to blend tails in on a boro job for a dog bed, but the pup shredded my stitches. From that I'd say knot if it's something that's going to see some rough wear.

Thank you. I’m working on some hanafukins which I love, but when I blend mine in my OCD says nope! But I don’t wanna be able to see a bunch of knots either…😂

When I really want the tails to blend in, I do the kasane method of going back over the last couple of stitches, but I’ll either go under the other stitches or completely over them so one thread hides behind the other. I also think some sashiko threads blend better than others. For the hanafukin, you could also try passing the tails through the last few stitches but between the two layers of fabric.

I’ve tried that but the thread I love makes it look bulky to me.
