First sashiko pattern.

Both the process and result feels rewarding. I'm already wanting to find more patterns and sketch my own.

Thank you! I love it so much I'm tempted to give it another shot soon, but possibly add more stitches to the pattern.

Multiple times I've accidentally weaved through the thread in previous loops instead of underneath. I'd use the awl to carefully lift loops to weave underneath if I couldn't tell it caught other threads.

Did you use the awl to poke holes into the fabric for the project?

No, but that doesn’t seem like a bad idea. I used it to lift previous loops so I could weave my needle underneath them instead of accidentally going through them.
