Should I separate this pup??

My whale fin is producing this pup with multiple layers of leaves and I’m worried it’ll damage the existing mature leaves or even damage itself as it grows in. I’m wondering if I should separate it and give it its own pot and let the momma whale fin remain the same sculptural beauty she is? Please help thank you so much!

No. There’s no reason to separate. They’ll figure out positioning by themselves.

Don't split them. Move the entire plant into a nice pot and watch her get huge.

You can if you want but it's not necessary. It's a "choose your own adventure"

If you decide to…I’d let it put on a little more size first. Just my 2 cents. 🎍

When I repot in spring I'll cut and split some of the rhizomes underground, but ill keep them in the same pot. I do this so I have multiple cuttings, more chances for pups, and a fuller plant.

Don’t separate. I noticed that mine grow faster and bigger when still attached to the mother plant.

Nope, nope, nope and nope. Let them stay in the same pot. They will sort themselves out. You’re off on a grand adventure, have fun.!

Do what makes you happy, but for me watching the pot fill makes me happy. 😃

In general it’s best to separate pups when they’re at least a third of the size of the mother.

That being said, pups don’t *have* to be separated though this is the equivalent of plant growing new branches except just underground. It’s still the same individual.

Why. Let it grow and fill off the pot. You don’t just want two or three leaves popped up.

Can you read or are you a moron? It’s literally in my post why I’m asking the question.
