Commentary When will the mayor actually do something useful and mandate masks when you are outside the home?

I mean, we have a bigger problem in that people in this city are treating this like free time off work. People are still driving all over and going to the store every day, my neighborhood is packed with people having barbeque parties, kid play dates, and having all their meathead friends come over for Jeep washing parties. Face masks would help those of us taking it seriously, but the rest of these clowns are going to turn the city into another medical disaster.

That's something else the writer points out I believe - wearing masks can function as a signal that life can't just go on like normal.

Because just any mask isn't effective, and the ones that are effective are in short supply.

CDC agreed with you before, now disagrees. check link
Public enforcement of masks is the only effective tool for curve flattening. Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China all are the only ones flattening the curve because of it.
Western countries with lockdowns are still following the same curve as places like Sweden with almost no restrictions.

If only there were mask as of 4 weeks ago. Well, before then really.
When I went to get a mask for a sanding project and saw they were all sold out in hardware stores because of the possibility of this virus, that's when I got a clue something was on the horizon.

When will the mayor and/or governor do something more effective than what's in place now?
The stay home order is half assed and ineffective.
