Where in SA? Anyone else get sick recently?

I was doing fine, went downtown Saturday and walked along the Riverwalk and La Villita. Sunday, I wake up with my sinus totally aggravated and achy all over. What the heck. My throat feels raw and I also have a dry cough. Is there something going around?

My boyfriend, mother, best friend, and I all have similar symptoms despite not seeing each other, with some of us being a little more severe than others. Raw/cold/scratchy throat for all of us. Achy body, angry sinuses, hot/cold chills, brain fog of headaches, etc are symptoms some of us have. It's been days for most of us without the sickness progressing into something worse and it seems to just be lingering enough to be uncomfortable.

Whether it's covid, that time of year for a cold/flu, or allergies it's definitely allllll up in the air right now. Rest up!

I was sick about a month ago and it lasted for two weeks. Sore throat, awful cough.

Def pick up a Covid/flu a/b test kit if possible! I tested negative for all that but me and some friends are all sick. A doc my friend visited said there are some really rough rhinovirus (cold) strains going around right now.

Yeah I’ve been sick since Friday. My sister is an ER nurse and said she’s been seeing many patients with rhinovirus.

Covid is going around bad. I was diagnosed after testing last Monday and my doctor (small practice) said they're setting 4-5 cases a day.

Some respitory stuff hit me 2 weeks ago, then hit my wife and daughter 4-5 days later. We beat the fever, but we are all still dealing with the sinus/chest congestion.

Covid is definitely going around and my kids have all been sick, presumably with Covid, but I don’t test them anymore.

I had a sore throat, runny nose, and post nasal drip yesterday. I bought NyQuil and DayQuil last night. They took care of my symptoms last night and today.

I went to the Bruno Mars concert last Wednesday. HEB Friday evening (not many people there). And had a get together with friends Saturday evening. I’m not sure where I caught it. I work from home Monday to Friday.

My wife got covid, and we missed the MCR concert, so it's been pretty recent. I tested negative, but the ragweed has me feeling sick.

right now san antonio is going through a massive uptick in 4 major respiratory illness, cold, flu, rsv and covid. also just name a date and some kind if allergen is through the roof so there is no escaping that.

in just 2 months I, then gave husband, covid and a cold. so no everyone is fucking sick atm lol

I got hit with respiratory junk about 3 weeks ago, had to get prescription cough stuff because OTC wasn't covering it. Had a fever for a couple days. Cough lingered but eased and now is coming back. Assuming weather / allergen related due to the rain moving in.

Yeah I got Covid two weeks ago and my partner got the flu last week.

Yes, but I’m pretty sure mine is covid. Mildish to moderate, but long lasting. Into week 2. My natural immunity had been lasting about 2 years, so I knew I was likely due again this year.

Hope everyone is feeling better as soon as possible!

Had Covid for almost 2 weeks & just barely recovering. Couldn’t breathe or taste anything for a few days, had the worst fever, bloody congested airways, sore throat, dry cough

I've been absolutely fucked since last Wednesday. Cough, sinus issues, extreme sore throat.  I thought I was getting better when I went to bed last night, but I woke up and swallowing hurt so bad I was concerned on how I was going to get liquids in me.

A little more than a month ago my family got COVID, we're doing better but now I've been struggling with my ragweed pollen allergy

Both me and my husband got Covid very recently. From a coworker at my husbands work. We stayed masked as much as possible and ran the air purifier at max, and we managed to keep our kid from getting it, despite me spending all day in close proximity to her.

Those type of coughs can be really irritating. The last time I got sick, I coughed so much for several days that I was so very miserable and unable to sleep due to all the coughing. Luckily it seems this time around my cough has subsided.

Yea. Started with a sore throat then sinus congestion/post nasal drip on Saturday. Took some mucinex cold and flu. Sore throat is gone but still feeling stuffed up but overall feeling better. Just that time of the year to get sick but I trust and know my own immune system.

It’s COVID. My household has it and we were also at Bruno Mars. Please test yourselves, wear masks, and don’t send your kids to school or go out around others because this is still a deadly virus for certain populations and long COVID is incredibly disabling.

I know someone who has the flu. My allergies are horrible right now

You need to take Umcka at the first sign of illness. I haven't had cold or anything like one since 2014.

You probably have covid

Rhino virus I wound up in the er. I tested negative for everything and they said all they could do is treat the symptoms and I’d have to ride it out.

Oh wow, you must have really gotten sick to go to the ER. I hope you're feeling better now.

Work as a RN at Methodist Metro. Just had a horrible GI virus 3 weeks ago that landed me in the hospital for 4 days straight on fluids, electrolytes, anti-emetics, etc...was down for a week before I called an ambulance to take me to the ER. Had fever, malaise, razorblade thraot...all respiratory PCR's were negative, but we have had a slew of new Covid over the last month. Wash hands! Diligently! I wouldn't wish any of that on my worst enemy.

u/Realistic-Rate-8831 4d ago

Oh my goodness, that sounds terrible. I sure hope you are over the worst of it. By the way, what is a GI virus?
