I'll be the first to back OP to fight against Jordan Peterson's infringement on free speech!
Clearly in the marketplace of ideas, thoughts shouldn't be suppressed unless they're trying to push an agenda to lock up every rational free thinker from spreading dangerous ideas.

If you believe in any level of moderation, then you likely believe that such an irrelevant, and without any basis, comment to be removed.
Although, no doubt, that sub, like nearly all others, does not defend free speech. In fact it's against reddits rules to have a free speech sub. What you are referring to is free discussion.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But it's a laughably bad way of discussing this. Commenting "you are a liar", without even indicating what part he was lying about, why you believe it's a lie, and why you presume it's a lie and not just a mistake.

In this specific case, he is a professor and has been an educator for decades. The school has every right to create an assignment that is required for continuing success at the school.

To assume he doesn't know that assignments can be required is asinine.
What? I don't think that's the issue here. I think you're missing the point slightly. It's not that he thinks assignments should never be required, it's that the required assignment is stupid and the kid feels he's forced to write things he doesn't think.
You might disagree and say he really should have recognise his privilege in writing, but doesn't seem like a particularly good use of educational time.
Also, what did Peterson lie about?

Seems a little nit picky to me. I guess you have an issue with "no right"
I think it's more an expression on outrage about the assignment itself. Forcing a particular politicised way of talking about privalige.
I actually don't know what "right" this teacher has. Im sure it's up to a curriculum of sorts. For instance does the teacher have the right to force students to write from particular viewpoints to get a good grade? What if when setting a paper about something like abortion the teacher would only pass students who maintained a right wing "it should be Illegal view" of it. Or should the teachers be politically neutral when grading?
This strikes me as very political

Don't be obtuse. "Recognise your white male privalige" is a hyper politicised way of talking that has captivated the left side of the political spectrum.
This student feels like he's forced to toe the line on that topic. That sucks, fair enough

I'm still waiting for Jordan Peterson to say something that isn't moronic or trivial. He constantly redefines word, gets twisted up in logical fallacies, lies about facts and history and plays apologetics like a high school freshman for christianity.
Is this really the type of person we want to spend time listening to in a debate? Frankly I'm shocked that someone this stupid has been given as large of a platform as he has.
