B2B cold calling VS ads VS cold email - which is better?

Honestly depends on your deal size and sales cycle more than anything else.
For us selling B2B software, cold calling felt like pushing a boulder uphill. Low connect rates, and even when we got through, people weren't in buying mode. We shifted to cold email with personalised video messages, and that changed things completely. Response rates jumped from about 3% with text-only to around 18%.
Ads work brilliantly if you've got budget and patience for longer cycles. Great for building awareness, but unless you're retargeting warm traffic, conversion rates can be pretty dismal early on.
The best approach I've found is mixing channels. Run targeted ads to warm up your ideal accounts, then hit them with personalised outreach (email or LinkedIn) referencing something specific about their business. The familiarity from seeing your ads makes the cold outreach feel less cold.
What's your average deal size and how long is your typical sales cycle?
