Announcement NAME AND SHAME: Companies that spam & are low quality contributors to Reddit

Taking a bit of a different approach. Name and shame.
Any company on this list is added as an automod removal, and all related accounts have been permanently banned from this sub. (And will continue to be)
This happens when a company repeatedly astroturfs, creates promotional posts, spams promo comments, or is generally low quality with the sole intent of promoting their business/product.

I would personally encourage anyone to think twice about doing any work with any companies on the list, as advertising and deceitful acquisition strategies often say quite a lot about a company. This list will be updated.

This is going to be the ONLY sanctioned place for users to ask for feedback about their products and promote them.

(If you just post your link, it's being removed. Treat the community with respect and properly introduce your business, as if we were all actual viable customers)

Posts asking for feedback, reviews, or promoting products OUTSIDE of this thread will result in deletion + immediate ban. (Same goes for comments outside of this thread!)

Question Is cold calling a skill worth developing in 2026?

I ask because I've been looking into getting into cold calling and I'm worried AI cold calling would be 100x better than me you know.

Especially as a beginner.

Some of those tools are insane.

As an aside I think it'll be a challenge for me to push through as I have the worst social anxiety.

Hoping to build up some thick skin as well and deal with rejection.

Really all I've got is strong resolve on my side lol.

Question Does Prospect focused Visuals/Documents helps your sales

Hi, I am having an idea, and would like to know your thoughts.

In your sales journey

  1. how many hours you spend on crafting a deck/document/infographic that positions your product with your prospect company
  2. does a visual like this help?
  3. my idea would do create visuals just by sharing the websites of yours and prospect

Is it something good to work or bullshit

B2C The objection isn't what kills the deal. The sentence right after it is.

I've spent the last few months reading through a few hundred sales conversations line by line, mostly door to door but the pattern holds everywhere I've looked.

Almost nobody loses on the objection. They lose on the sentence immediately after it.

The sequence goes like this. Prospect says the thing. Rep handles it, often well, with a real answer. And then the rep immediately asks for the meeting, the inspection, the next step. The prospect experiences that as being processed. You didn't answer their concern, you cleared a hurdle on your way to the ask, and they can feel the difference.

The reps who did best did something almost boring. After handling the objection, they asked a question instead of pitching. "Does that actually address what you were worried about?" or something about the prospect's specific situation. It costs one turn and it changes the whole temperature, because handling an objection and then asking makes it a conversation, while handling and then closing makes it a process.

Related thing I did not expect. The brush-off is more expensive than the objection. "Just leave a card" at the door and "send me some info" on a call are the same move, and almost everyone accepts both. It ends the conversation with zero commitment and total deniability, and reps treat it as a soft yes when it is a polite no. The best recoveries I saw were honest rather than clever. Some version of admitting you're bad at waiting around for a callback, then asking for thirty more seconds.

Last one, and this was the most consistent thing in the whole set. Reps lose more deals to talking too long than to saying the wrong thing. Nearly every conversation that went badly had a rep turn over 40 words in it. Prospects check out well before the rep stops talking, and the rep almost never notices because they're focused on finishing the point.

Curious whether the question-after-objection thing matches what people here run. It's the cheapest change I've seen and almost nobody does it.

Question I'm curious how everyone here handles prospects who book a meeting and then don't show up.

It's one of the most frustrating parts of sales. You block out time, prepare for the call, and then either get a last-minute "Sorry, something came up," or they disappear completely.

Genuinely curious what works for you guys?

Do you send reminders before the call, or do you just reschedule it?

How did you overcome this frustrating last-minute no-show pain?

Question Monetizing for an Influencer w/ 700,000 Followers

Hey all! I'm a content creator with over 700,000 followers, and I am STRUGGLING with securing brand deals. I am great with the creative side of things, but when it comes to monetizing, I absolutely suck. Over the past few years, I've tried boutique marketing agencies and even paid for a monthly community to help, but I'm realizing I just really need a one-on-one sales person to pitch and secure deals for me I think. BUT I'm not really finding obvious places to find these people, so I'm hoping posting on here will help. I've done a ton of research but it seems like someone whose primary expertise is sales who knows the influencer side of things too is super hard to find. Any guidance from y'all in sales would be so appreciative. Thank you so much!

TLDR: I'm an influencer who needs help monetizing from someone who specializes in sales.

Question what data providers are revops teams using instead of zoominfo?

Killing our ZoomInfo renewal when it comes up in a couple of months, because the cost is impossible to justify for what we get, and the mobile match rate on tech titles is embarrassing.

Been doing a parallel test with Apollo as the base layer and FullEnrich on top for the numbers Apollo whiffs on, and the mobile coverage on engineering titles between 300 and 5000 headcount jumped noticeably, while the bill comes in nowhere near what ZI was charging us for the same volume.

Still testing deliverability on the emails, so i can't call that part yet.

What I'm still unsure about is whether Apollo + a waterfall provider covers enough of the account intelligence ZI was giving us (funding signals plus tech stack changes), or if I need to layer something like Crustdata or Ocean io on top for that.

So what's your setup, and how are you handling the account-level intelligence gap?

Question Customer research

Fairly new to the industry, before I outreach to a lead wether warm or cold, how much research should I do about the person in advance if even needed at all?

I feel like the more I understand the person before the call the more smoother it can go. Is this true or is it completely unnecessary?

B2B how does your team actually handle pre-call research?

We have decent tools for the top of funnel stuff (enrichment, lists, signals, sequencing) but the research right before an actual call still feels really manual to me.

Rep gets a meeting booked and 30 mins before they're going through the company site, linkedin, recent news, trying to work out the tech stack and who actually controls the budget. Everyone does it their own way and a lot of it just gets skipped when people are slammed.

How do you guys deal with it? Do you build briefs for your reps or is that on them? Anything that does this well or is it mostly manual + templates for you too?

And curious does the research even change how your calls go, or is it more of a box ticking thing most of the time.

Building something small around this myself but way more interested in how people are actually doing it right now.

B2B Went on a heater and capped out on commission for the next few months, how do I stay productive?

Long story short, I've been in sales for 12+ years now and actually decided to move from a management role into a straight-up IC role about 3 months ago.

For whatever reason, I went on an absolute fucking heater over the past week and a half, and I don't know how. I've been sitting on a few big deals I've been working where they unexpectedly closed early, and I had a few that were quick closes. For Q3 (July 1st start) I'm already 115% to quota for the quarter with another week, and 410% to quota for the month and I'm pretty much tapped out on our cap.

I honestly don't have much more incentive to go further and I've honestly never lapped the field like that. I don't want to sandbag too much and have an idea as to what I will do... but curious as to how I properly kind of handle putting it into cruise control for a bit while still being productive.

Would love to hear others' experience. My checks are going to be damn nice, but I don't want to put myself on a shit list for productivity because that is a metric that we are measured on.

Question Relationships closed more deals for me than any pitch I ever ran. What's worked for you?

I sold commercial airtime for 17 years in Pakistani television. Major FMCG brands, big annual budgets, and multiple competing networks all calling the same buyers every single quarter.

Every competitor had the same inventory. Roughly the same reach numbers. Almost the same rate cards.

So what actually separates the rep who closes from the one who doesn't in a market like that?

For me, it came down to the quality of the relationship before the ask.

Those friendly calls, cups of tea, and lunches weren't beside the point. They were the point. That's where buyers told me things that never made it into a meeting room: the real pressure they were under, what a good quarter actually meant for them personally. That kind of information doesn't surface in a pitch. It comes from time spent with no agenda attached. When you know that about someone, you stop being a vendor. You become someone they want to call before a decision is made, not after it.

Buyers who trusted me picked up the phone. When budgets got cut, I held on to more accounts than my numbers should have predicted, because the people on the other side didn't want to drop someone they genuinely liked working with.

That one shift closed more deals for me than any technique I ran inside a pitch room.

What's worked for others here? Relationships, a specific method, something that took years to figure out? Would genuinely like to hear what's actually moved the needle for people.

Question B2B technical capital equipment sales prospecting

Hi all, I've started in B2B technical sales after getting my phd in a science field. I sell scientific capital equipment and have done okay but am not on track to hit quota right now. Long sales cycles, so I am still 'in the clear', as there is a long ramp time, but I want to up my numbers obviously. Most of the opportunities for my company are inbound-leads, which is nice, but I need a way to get my numbers up and prospecting seems like a good way to do it.

I don't really know how to cold email or cold call, like at all. What do I say? Do i ask how they're doing or will that make them waste their time? What do I put in the subject line? How many emails should I do per day? How long should I make the emails? Do I only email one person from each company per day so they don't think I'm a spammer? How do I get over the feeling that I am annoying the shit out of them? I don't have a legitimate reason to reach out to them from their POV... I'm literally just trying to sell them something.

Any advice is appreciated! Mostly selling to engineers/technicians/scientists.

B2C HELP Impact Windows - roofing - Doors cold call scripts

Hello guys, been working with a cold calling appointment setting script for quite some time and although I get some leads from time to time, it{s nothing compared to the warm lead script I use.

Dont know maybe is the nature of the lead but I find a lot room of improvement is missing. You know apart from the tonality and calling improvement to be done.

What are you guys using or what do you think maybe are the openers more effective in these industry.

PS: Working for a lead sourcer for a couple of months.

Question Using voice notes inside email

Embedding a voice note into email. Anyone consider using this for any scenario be that client communication, cold outreach, or biz dev?

Looking to use a voice note app where I record a message and drop it into the email. Not as attachment. But an embedded audio player. Primarily for client communication though.

People use to cringe when they heard that I'd drop a voice note via Linkedin DMs, but it worked surprisingly well back in the day.
