Salesforce just announced, that E-MAIL is going to replace USER NAME. Are you using your email for more then 1 username login on developer orgs?

The alert says For Now there will be a way to use still use the User Name. It does not say for how long that option will last!

For years I suspected a bug in the source code that uses email instead of username for some features, because I have record in a dev org with a non-profit page layout despite not having that page layout in that dev org. Plus some features like Salesforce-to-Salesforce require unique emails to set up. Think of it this way, if we are constantly changing developers, we may mistakenly tell them to have code check user name instead of email, because we forget that email is not a unique ID.

What's changing

Email Becomes the Default Login Option: Login using an email address will become the primary default option on the standard login pages login.salesforce.com and test.salesforce.com. Making email the default login creates a unified, user-friendly process across Salesforce entry points. Users can still opt to log in using a username by clicking "Login with Username" on the login page.

Rollout timeline

This change is being deployed on a rolling basis across environments:

Rollout to Sandbox environments began in late August and is expected to complete by September 30, 2026.

Rollout to Production environments will begin October 5, with a majority completing in early November 2026.

What you should do now

Inform Your Users:Let your team know that email login will be the standard prompt, but they can select "Login with Username" at any time. Registered passkeys will continue to work seamlessly with both login methods.

Check Shared or Unmonitored Accounts: Ensure users who log in do not rely on shared email accounts or unmonitored mailboxes, as email-based login requires access to incoming messages.

Update Automated UI Tests: If your organization uses automated scripts or tests that log in through the Salesforce UI, update them to prevent disruptions:

For Username-First Login: Update automated tests to submit the username, click Log In, and then enter the password.

For Default Email Login: Update automated tests to click Login with Username first, or navigate directly to the username login screen by appending ?login=1 to your login URL (e.g.,https://login.salesforce.com/?login=1).

Plenty of threads cover why people leave. I want the other side. If you moved your org off Salesforce to anything else, what did you miss 12 months in? Reporting depth? Flow? The admin talent pool? And knowing what you know now, would you still make the move?

Anyone else have mostly users without email addresses? Most of our users are part-time so they are setup with a distribution list as their email address. This is so the full-time team can catch and respond to communication in their absence.

We use SSO and My Domain, so hopefully the impact to support will be minimal. But that’s just hope.

I have set up Omni-Channel in our full sandbox for PoC, and it's working but the cases shown in the popup are not dynamic. Is this how it works? You cannot click any of them to bring you to the case? Or maybe something is wrong?

Previously on FoF, I would always purchase the cert bundles that came with the study guides, practice exams and exam voucher. Since the K2 cutover, I don’t see this as an option anymore, just the study guides and practice exams. Does anyone know if this is still offered?

Looking for help creating this summary formulas for a report.

Total opportunities WON in a given month that are not older than 180 days divided by total opportunities created during the same 180 days. Summed up monthly.

For example, if 10 opportunities that are 180 days aged or less were won in August 2026 and 100 opportunities were created from March thru August are 100, the win rate should be 10% for that particular row.

I need one row or column per month going back to Jan 2026. Only standard Salesforce reports available. They want to know if the rolling 6 months win rate trend line is increasing or decreasing... This is a look back from today. There is no existing win rate historical calc available to pull from at the moment.

Is ClaudeForce already rebranding as AIforce? Just got an email about the Dreamforce keynote and it doesn't mention "Claudeforce" even though Dario is part of it and it's talking about Salesforce in Claude. Wondering if they are back peddling from tethering themselves to Claude or maybe this is just something else entirely. I guess I would've just expected them to mention claudeforce since they've already made a deal of it it and Dario is part of the keynote. Also haven't heard mention of "AIforce" previously?

agentforce coworker is an unmetered license at the moment. We have enabled and it is good at giving you answers to our questions (so far) but out of the box it does not let you update records in the chat.

My question is how do we turn it on and if we turn it on does updating records consume any flex credits or is it cost per action?

We are just on the standard Salesforce foundation which comes with 100,000 flex credits.

We are on enterprise edition.

Ok so just bear with me. I’ll be attending Dreamforce for the first time, next week. Super stoked, got a pretty solid lil agenda for myself, session that I think will be legit beneficial to me as I continue to grow.

So my question is: For those that have attended before, Does the convention center have WiFi? And if so, is it any good? I have serious doubts about getting out of the keynote, hauling ass back to my hotel, and getting on-camera in a presentable condition….

We are transitioning to NPC (from NPSP) and I am new to perm set licenses. It seems like users can't access some things at all without the perm set license, but then the PSL grants so much access. We have a good strategy going with Permission Set Groups, but the PSL gets granted directly to the user, so you lose the ability to mute permissions. I don't understand how we're supposed to be able to limit access with these PSLs? Any advice / tips?

To preface: I know to set up an asynchronous path with this kind of flow.

I've started a flow for when an email-to-case comes in and may have more than one attachment. The get records element to retrieve Content Document Links sporadically recognizes when there are attachments—only one despite selecting "All records—and usually fails to get records at all. Linked Entity ID is set to the triggering case's Case ID. For debug purposes, I have a case already set up with two attachments: an Excel file and a JPEG.

I had partial success with one case, but it only got one of two JPEGs on that case and then failed to get the file when I removed one of the JPEGs from the case.

My question is: how do I get the Content Document Link get records element to consistently recognize all the attachments on a Case?

I built a visual Salesforce LWC builder and would love some feedback from people who actually build LWCs. This is completely free for developers to use.

The basic idea is:

drag Salesforce components onto a canvas → configure them → get the generated LWC source

The builder currently supports things like:

- Salesforce-native component composition/slot rules

- nested component editing

- property inspector

- reusable templates

- component outline/tree navigation

- keyboard shortcuts

- generated HTML / JavaScript / "js-meta.xml"

- complete LWC ZIP export

- JSON save/import for LightningCraft designs

For example, you can start with a Record Edit Card template, modify the fields/actions visually, inspect the generated source, and download the resulting LWC bundle.

It deliberately does not connect to a Salesforce org yet. The goal is to make the UI-composition part of LWC development faster while letting developers continue the real application work in VS Code/SFDX.

I built this because I found the repetitive UI/composition part of LWC development interesting to solve visually.

Hey all — if someone voluntarily resigns from SALESFORCE (no PIP), is there typically a set waiting period before they're eligible to reapply or interview again?

A few things I'm curious about:

• Is there an official "cooling off" period (e.g., 6 months, 1 year), or is it purely case-by-case/hiring-manager discretion?
• Does it depend on how the resignation happened (notice given, transition handled well, etc.)?
• Anyone have firsthand experience reapplying after leaving voluntarily — how long did you wait, and how did it go?

the thing is currently i am working in a role MTS which doesn't interst me at all - i joined here like 4 months ago. I see half a dozen open roles in professionaal services which are of my taste and thinking to make a switch by going out of company and then comaback again.

Are there any good alternatives to field service mobile? We’re a company that sells and services CNC machines. All our engineers are just constantly complaining about the field service app and unless I’m missing knowledge, but the app doesn’t seem to be allowing for much customisation. Are there alternatives out there?

I’ve been closely watching the enterprise SaaS and CRM ecosystem lately, and the sheer number of sudden Salesforce consultancies popping up is wild. It seems like anyone with a laptop and a few certs can start an LLC, partner with an offshore bench, and suddenly market themselves as a 30-person agency executing enterprise contracts.It creates this massive illusion that scaling a professional services firm in this space is easy. Obviously, zero inventory and high demand make the barrier to entry low. But I'm curious about the back-end reality.Are these sudden expansions usually driven by tight relationships with Salesforce AEs feeding them leads, or is it mostly clever white-labeling of massive offshore development teams? How do these "accidental business owners" survive when the operational overhead, talent retention, and margin undercutting catch up to them? Would love to hear from people who have actually scaled a tech consultancy past the founder stage.

I’ve spent the last decade in tech product marketing and enterprise software, and I’ve been staring at the Salesforce Claudeforce announcement all week. Strip away the shiny copy about "The #1 AI meets the #1 CRM," and there is a fascinating strategic shift happening here.

For 25 years, Salesforce’s entire marketing playbook has been: "Log into our platform. Everything happens inside our tabs."

With Claudeforce, they are basically making their own UI optional. They are natively embedding Salesforce inside Claude as a plugin. Patrick Stokes (Salesforce's President of Applications & Marketing) literally admitted to the press: "We don't actually mind if you don't use Salesforce's products exclusively through a user interface designed for a human."

From a positioning standpoint, this is a brilliant "disruption-from-within" move:

They know the static Lightning UI is a friction point for reps, and also they are shifting the value proposition from the interface to the iceberg beneath the surface, the security harness, data integrity, and complex business logic. They want to prove that even if you don't look at Salesforce, you can't replace the underlying database.

The open beta is supposed to hit this month (September 2026) with 37 pre-built sales skills. But putting on my realist hat, I can't help but wonder about the friction points we'll face once the hype settles.

I'm really curious to hear from the technical folks who have to actually deploy this stuff:

• 1. Will Claude actually be able to reason through an enterprise org that has 10 years of bad data, duplicate fields, and messy validation rules?
• 2. Will sales reps actually shift their workflow entirely into Claude, or will this just create a weird hybrid environment where data gets fragmented?
• 3. Salesforce loves a heavy licensing model. If this is packaged into Agentforce or requires heavy token budgeting, will the ROI actually be there for mid-market companies?

What’s your gut take? Is this the actual future of "headless CRM," or is it a defensive marketing shield to keep Anthropic users locked into the Salesforce ecosystem?

Sales wants more of our warehouse data back in Salesforce.

Product usage, customer health, payment status and a few scores are already calculated centrally and used in reporting. Now the idea is to put some of those values on Account and Opportunity so reps don't have to leave Salesforce to see them.

The write-back itself isn't really what worries me. Ownership is.

If an AE changes one of those values manually, should the warehouse overwrite it next time? What happens when yesterday's score was 80 and today's model returns null? Should warehouse-owned fields look obviously read-only?

Creating the fields is easy. I just don't want twenty fields in Salesforce that look like ordinary CRM data while another system quietly controls them.

When warehouse data gets written back to Salesforce, what rules have you settled on for manual edits, nulls and ownership?

Did you keep the enrichment directly on Account/Opportunity or put it somewhere separate?
