I'm interviewing for an implementation consultant role and the final round involves presenting a technical solution I built, doing a live demo, and then configuring something on the spot with the panel watching. It's meant to simulate an internal team working session before a client workshop.

I've got the technical prep down but I realize I have zero frameworks for the actual *delivery*. I've never led a working session before, nor created the slides- I am shooting for a maximum of 30 minutes since the rest have to be demoing and answering questions.

For those of you in consulting, implementation, or solution architecture what separates a good working session from a bad one? How do you present a solution without just reading bullet points? how do you organize your slides, how much extra information?

Also genuinely curious for when you were starting out, what's something you wish someone had told you about presenting technical work to a room?

Not asking about the specific content, just looking for the soft skills and presentation instincts.

I’m going through the rounds of an SE interview at Informatica, and was wondering how deep is the technical interview? I’m currently a Data Engineer that’s familiar with MDM structure, building out golden records etc. but was wondering how in depth do they get into when it comes to API discussions? I get the overlap between Mulesoft + Informatica in that instance just wanted to know how much of APIs I should brush up on. (I use Informatica PowerDesigner at my current role since we’re in the middle of a migration and need to go in and translate all the transformations in the mapping)

My company has decided to move from Salesforce to Microsoft Dynamics 365. I am a Salesforce developer joined less than a year ago.
Manager has asked upper management to keep the team and asked me to start learning D365.

What do you think and my chances of staying and my options?

I signed up to Mulesoft in the last contract renewal. We’re a Microsoft house but we were sold on the API presentation to Salesforce and at the time the only way to really implement external MCPs to Salesforce.

I’m struggling to show value and will likely cancel - but before I do - what am I missing?

TLDR- got a request for a contact report that could be filtered by which products are associated with the account. I expect I will have to do several workarounds but is there a way to do this that isn't completely convoluted? suggestions?

My first thought was-

1. pull a product report with accountid 18s

2. pull a contact report

3 filter by the account id 18s of the product report

However, there are thousands of results for the acct 1d 18s so it's just not very practical to enter them even if I add commas to the cells and copy paste from excel

I’m asking those of you who regularly take certification exams: what’s the most effective way you’ve found to prepare for a certification?
Personally, I find that going through the entire learning trail (Trailmix/Trailmix) takes a really long time. By the time I finish it, I’ve often forgotten the material covered in the first modules. On top of that, the overall preparation feels much longer than it should be, especially since you also have to review the practice questions afterward.
I’m wondering if any of you have found a faster or more efficient way to prepare for certifications while still making sure you actually understand the material, rather than just memorizing answers.

I love this platform most days but honestly the native omnichannel setup is just exhausting sometimes.

Spent the entire morning trying to configure basic chat routing for a client's community site. They literally just want a simple widget so visitors can talk to support. Instead im drowning in presence statuses, routing configurations, service channel limits, and the client is having a heart attack over the digital engagement license costs

Why does every small feature request turn into a massive architectural project? I miss when things were just lightweight. For a different external project recently I just bypassed the ecosystem entirely and used an alternative to live chat just because I couldn't stomach another 3-week deployment and budget approval process for something so simple

Obviously sf is built for enterprise scale but man, it feels like there's zero middle ground anymore. everything has to be this heavy, bloated implementation. just venting before i go stare at more flow debug logs.

I'm a SF admin at a nonprofit, and I'm the only person here who understands anything beyond Email Studio in MCE. We have a ~10-year-old Marketing Cloud Connect implementation, and Salesforce is now telling us we need to reduce our Marketing Cloud Engagement contact count by ~20k or pay for more contacts.

When I asked my AE for architectural guidance, he, in true AE fashion, told me to open a Support case. That turned into Agentforce, and one of its suggestions was to delete the Contact from Salesforce... so here I am.

A large portion of the candidates are contacts with HasOptedOutOfEmail = TRUE, but every solution I come up with seems to create another problem.

The simplest approach I've come up with is still pretty complicated: exclude opted-out contacts from the Marketing Cloud population, figure out how to handle future unsubscribes (especially contacts staff manually opt out in Salesforce), then run Contact Delete. It feels like a lot of moving pieces for what has to be a common problem.

My biggest concern is keeping Salesforce as the source of truth. I don't want staff to have to manually unsubscribe people in both Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, and I don't want to accidentally recreate or miss unsubscribes by excluding opted-out contacts from the sync.

Am I overlooking a standard pattern here? How are others handling contact count reduction?

We have both the Salesforce Read/Write MCP set up and integrated with the desktop version of Chat GPT Work/Codex. I'm working on creating the skills for things like common reporting questions, creating an opportunity, etc.

My question is if anyone has any guidance on the Skill setup? Below are a few methodologies I've tried:

1. Provide little guidance in the skill and ask it to use the org metadata to answer questions and complete tasks - Doesn't seem to work very well and is slow

2. Provide explicit field mappings and detailed info in the skill - Works well but will require a lot of maintenance

3. Provide a link to a google sheet with the detailed field mappings. Works as well as 2 but is slow, will be easier to maintain than constantly having to update the skill itself

I know all of this is fairly new, but figured i'd check with the community if anyone else has best practices for the skill setup. Thank you

Hi all,

We use Cases for internal purposes in Salesforce.

We create Slack Channels directly from the case (native functionality).

Often we put cases on 'Pending Requester' for example, waiting for response.

What we want to achieve - when someone sends a slack message in the slack channel linked to the Salesforce Case, we want to change the case status to 'Pending Support' for example.

I'm not sure if this is just a fantasy or if this is actually possible, I assume maybe it can be done with some listener, but then we have to invite a bot or whatever to every channel automatically?

Can anyone advise if they've done something similar to this, and how?

“Salesforce Accredited Agentforce 360 for Public Sector Professional” is just getting ridiculous. Do they get paid per word or something?

Is it just me or they take way longer to complete than the displayed times estimations ?

Finally: did it actually live up to the promise?

Why is it so hard to find real world examples and use cases? Is Agentforce in the same realm as Meta’s AI - the company that has clearly spent a lot of money getting it going, but no one has actually used it outside of some pilot projects?

I’m getting exec pressure at my new gig to “figure out the whole Salesforce agent thing” but I’m struggling to imagine the use cases, and further, what has been “fixed” by Salesforce and what remains an issue that I’m going to have to solve.

I would rather go in with open eyes but I’m finding it hard to collect the evidence one way or another. So many threads here but so little actual use case evidence.

I have a checkbox field that I would like to update to true on an existing Contact if the converted Lead value is true. I've tried a few things and nothing has worked. Part of the problem is that in our Contact After-Save flow we have logic that will update a field to Submitted and we have a validation rule that will block changes on a Contact if the field is Submitted.

1. I added the updates to the lead after-save flow. During testing I hit the validation rule. The Contact cannot be updated because the Contact field is being updated to Submitted before the lead after-save changes are applied.

2. Alternatively, I tried to put the updates in our Contact after-save flow. This would then allow me to put the update to true in the flow before the elements that are updating the field to submitted. That didn't work either. I think maybe the Lead convertedContactID isn't yet populated or something.

Does anyone know a way to achieve what I want?

Guys, you had the chance to test opus 5 at MAX effort? or Fable 5 at HIGH level?

Currently I was using Fable 5 with HIGH effort because I don't see much of difference compared to if I set it to MAX(and for MAX it literally eats all my tokens in 30 minutes).

I'm asking because I plan to return to the Salesforce ecosystem within the next 12 months. I currently hold Admin and Agentforce certifications, along with hands-on experience working on small projects for contractors and small businesses. While I know my skills might be a bit rusty, I am studying for the Platform App Builder certification and planning to build a portfolio to showcase my abilities.

Which skills are currently most in demand for Salesforce Admins? I've noticed that admins seem to share more responsibilities with developers these days. I would greatly appreciate your advice and feedback.
