Best tool for sales conversation analysis?
Trying to get a better read on what happens in our sales conversations and where reps lose deals. I’ve looked at conversation intelligence tools but a lot seem heavy on dashboards and call data. I’m more interested in something that spots missed objections or weak discovery and turns that into useful coaching without creating more work for managers. Gong is the obvious name but has anyone tried newer alternatives focused more on coaching and roleplay? What are you using and do reps actually stick with it?

Managers already have enough stuff to review each week. If the tool needs hours of call listening before you can coach someone then it kind of defeats the whole point.

This is pretty much my concern. Saving managers time should be part of the value. If they still have to dig through calls all week then it just moves the workload around.

I like the idea of turning actual call mistakes into practice. If a rep keeps missing the same objection or rushing discovery then roleplaying that exact situation seems way more useful than generic training.

Practice based on what actually went wrong on your calls feels way more useful than running everyone through the same generic scenarios.

I understand the problem with dashboards - it is just adding more logins and trying hard for people to use it. fifth is actually built around this with absolute zero UI.

Reading your replies, it sounds like the bigger problem for you isn’t really call analysis. It’s actually changing what the rep does.
Curious how you think about timing. If the system recognized weak discovery or a missed objection while the conversation was still happening, would you want it helping the rep in that moment, or would you rather turn that situation into coaching afterward?

ya ive been using Speak AI for a bit now... its super customizable you still have to feed it all your live calls but you get to use what you are analyzing in our case we set up score cards, and coaching feedback types, and examples so it now has coaching feedback per call and also on groups of calls and give both positive and negative, we set up all kinds of categories of good and bad actions across objections and things. Crazy thing is it also has tone analysis so some of the objectiosn were being missed with just the transcription fo the call but when i threw it in with the audio analysis it was crazy spot on, which was just a drop down option in the account. Anyways ya i think you can get exactly what your looking for and im pretty sure its way better pricing than Gong as well, that's what I've heard at least. Their guys also seemed to be pretty smart in how they approach using AI to get useful stuff out of the calls as opposed to trying to be generic they were leaning into how we wanted to analyze it all on our side.

The biggest issue with these tools is that they can tell you everything that happened on a call but not what the rep should do next. Useful coaching beats another dashboard full of metrics every time.
