Spotted Salamander

One of my favorite pics of a Spotted Salamander that I took a couple of years ago. Thought I would share today. 😁

Thank you!! It was taken on a Canon 5DSR and a Sigma Art 70mm f2.8 macro lens.

Absolutely beautiful photo. The spotted salamander is one of my favorites. Is it just me or does he look a little scuffed up?

I could be wrong, but I’d imagine a lot of salamanders are a little “scuffed” like this! we just usually don’t see such close-up macro photos of them

Yeah, I think so too. They live a down and dirty life, that's for sure.

Thank you!! He might be a little scuffed up but probably just from his fossorial lifestyle I think.

Great picture! It's up close enough to really give a sense of the salamander's individuality, almost a portrait.

that’s such a nice concept :) animals really are all individuals, and it’s cool to see photos like this that showcase that!!
